I have a KitchenAid refr. mod. KSRL25FRSS00 it is turned down to the lowest setting and still freezes things in vegetable box. (new control board?)

Is your milk or eggs freezing? All the cooling in the refrig and freezer spaces is done in the freezer. Sometimes, the control labeled freezer temp controls a vent between the freezer and ref space, allowing air into the ref side. the other control determines run time. try turning thefrz setting up to raise the ref temp.

Air Conditioning Programmable Thermostats - Great for Heating and Cooling

Programmable thermostats contribute to overall system performance, maximizing energy savings while providing complete comfort control. They also allow flexibility to homeowners because they can be programmed to match their lifestyle. Programmable thermostats save energy by turning down the cooling and heating system at night or at times when your home is typically unoccupied.

Did you know that properly using a programmable thermostat in your home is one of the easiest ways you can save energy, money. Homeowners can save about $180 a year by properly setting their programmable thermostats and maintaining those settings. They can achieve significant energy and money savings that are possible through the proper use of your programmable thermostat. Programmable thermostats do two things:
(1) Compare the thermometer reading of a room's temperature to the "ideal" thermostat temperature you select.

(2) Give start-and-stop commands to the heating or cooling system in order to achieve an indoor temperature that is as close to your "ideal" thermostat setting as possible.

Your savings will largely depend on the length of your energy saving program periods and the temperatures set. For example, an energy saving period of 10 hours with the temperature set back 10° will save more than a 5 hour energy saving period with the temperature set back 5°. By maintaining the highest or lowest required temperatures for four or five hours a day instead of 24 hours, a programmable thermostat can pay for itself in energy saved within four years.

A programmable thermostat will keep you and your home comfortable while you are there to enjoy it, and will change the set point at programmed times to an energy savings level when you are not home. The precise temperature control of a programmable, energy-saving thermostat saves wear and tear on high-efficiency heating and cooling equipment by properly cycling the equipment. A programmable thermostat will keep you and your home comfortable while you are there to enjoy it, and will change the set point at programmed times to an energy savings level when you are not home.

Controlling your heating more effectively could save you up to 17% on your heating costs. In fact, during the winter you can save about 3 percent of your heating costs for every degree you lower your thermostat. Begin lowering your heating bill immediately with the pre-programmed 7-day schedule, or modify the programming to suit your lifestyle. By delivering the heating or cooling when you need it, and optimizing temperature for activity, sleep and times you are away you can maximize your comfort level and save energy.

I need to learn how to control the tempature setting

Hello,

The temperature controls are located at the top front of the refrigerator or freezer compartments.
The recommended setting should be correct for normal household refrigerator use. The controls are correctly set when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm.
Wait 24 hours for your refrigerator to completely cool before adding food. If you add food before the refrigerator has completely cooled, your food may spoil.
NOTE: Adjusting the refrigerator and freezer temperature controls to a colder-than-recommended setting will not cool the compartments any faster.
If the temperature is too warm or too cold in the refrigerator or freezer, first check the air vents to be sure they are not blocked before adjusting the controls.
To turn Off/On:
Style 1 Press the freezer down arrow touch pad until a dash (-) appears in both the refrigerator and freezer displays. Neither compartment will cool.
Style 2 Turn the freezer control to the word Off. Neither compartment will cool when the freezer is set to Off.

Energy Saver option (on some models)
The Energy Saver option turns off the heater which helps to reduce moisture on the door hinge seal. The refrigerator uses more energy when Energy Saver is off.
Press the control to On to save energy when the environment is less humid.
Press the control to Off when the environment is warm and more humid, or if you notice moisture on the door hinge seal.

Adjusting controls
If you need to adjust the temperature in either the refrigerator or freezer compartment.
NOTES:
For Style 1 control, press the up and down arrow touch pads; for Style 2 controls, turn the dial to adjust the temperature.
Except when starting the refrigerator, do not adjust either control more than one setting at a time.
Wait 24 hours between adjustments for the temperature to stabilize.

Hope this guideline will helpout.....

Ice maker not working. refrigerator is freezing everything. seems to run all the time.Help!!!!!! It is an Amana about 10 yrs old.

if you have the settings correct then the cold control(ref setting) is bad. but some older models use a baffling system which confuse some people. the freezer settind turned to the lowest setting make you fridge colder. when you put the freezer on the highest setting it allows less airflow. which in turn keeps ref warmer.

Fridge freezing everything

THIS REF. WORKS BEST WITH THE REF. SET ON 4 OR 5 AND THE FREEZER AT 2 1/2 OR 3. HAVING A HIGH FREEZER TEMPATURE CAN HAVE FREEZING IN THE BOTTOM DRAWER OF TH REF. MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE RETURN AIR VENT TO THE FREZER IS BEHIND THAT DRAWER.

Temperature too cold even when on lowest

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp ..

Food gets frozen

If your refrigerator freezes its contents, even when the cold control is set to its lowest setting, its cold control is probably defective. Call an appliance repairperson. As a rule, refrigerators are designed to maintain 37 to 40 degrees F in the refrigerator box and 0 to 5 degrees F in the freezer box. Setting either compartment to lower temperatures generally costs you extra in energy dollars. If the icemaker keeps making ice, even when full: 1) Lift the bail wire to shut it off. 2) Empty the bin, remove the icemaker, clean it, and reinstall it. 3) If the problem persists, consider having an appliance repairperson remove and replace the entire icemaker and valve, a relatively affordable repair. With this type of problem, it's often better to replace the unit rather than to pay for
