The password is stored in the CMOS powered by a 3V battery. Removing this battery for a couple of minutes will make the password to be reset, toghether with time and date and some other settings made by the user in the BIOS. Getting to this battery is very easy in desktop PC, but a laptop must be taken apart to get to the motherboard where the battery is located. That requires tools and skills, otherwise the laptop can be damaged. Best advice is to let this be done by a qualified person.
If you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will clear the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.
Inorder
to reset the BIOS password, you have to open the laptop from the back,
locate the CMOS battery, remove it and press down the terminal (with the
help of a screw driver) for 5 sec, now turn ON the computer (keepon
holding the terminal) short the BIOS. Now, Turn off the computer and
restart the computer, it will reset the BIOS password.
Hi there , i think its a cause of your RAM. Remove the RAM from motherboard. clean that & also the RAM slot. Then run your system again. Another reason virus. scan your laptop with updated antivirus.
I am sure at a time your battery & power cable both can't be damaged. If your battery power cable damaged then you can see your system run by battery or opposite right? So try these and follow the battery & power indicator also.
Thanks & waiting for your feedback.
Really, this is a little tough. There is a jumper someplace close to the cmos battery that will allow you to clear the password. First thing you have to do is find the cmos battery, and it could be under the keyboard, or under a cover on the bottom of the machine.
Looked for a service manual for you, but unable to come up with one.
