Set wireless security to one of the options available. Also, set the router system ID, and change router login password, (record it somewhere, like on the actual router) change the wireless channel to 11 to avoid conflict with landline wireless handsets.
There are higher security settings, but wireless access password is pretty effective.

Log on to your wireless router and set a password. Look up the user manual to know how to connect to the user interface through your browser (webGUI) and what the default username and password combination is (if you haven't changed this).

I wanna protect my connection from outside users i dont know how to protect it !! please help me out!

You listed your problem ubder: modems. A modem you do not need to protect further. You can only use the connection by hooking up a cable to it. If you have a wireless router connected to your modem that should be secured. You do this by entering a security code in the setup of the router. just enter the router's IP address in your web browser, log in to it,go to the security tab under wireless setup and enter a security code. (write it down because you will need it to connect wireless). You can not connect to it without this code. This way your wireless connection is secured and can not be used by outsiders.

How to set up a password on ASUS RT-G32 wireless router so others cannot access my internet services.

Open a browser. Type in the router IP 192.168.1.1. Login to the router using your user id and password. If you have never set up a user id or password, then use the factory default ones to access. Once into the router settings, change the admin password to avoid anyone later accessing the router and changing your settings. Once you save the admin password change, you will be kicked out and must login again with the new password. Once in, go to wireless settings. Here you will able to set a wireless password (security key) for your wireless LAN. Once you save and exit, you will need to go to all your wireless devices and modify them with the security key in order for them to access the network. Once the key is in the router, your network is secure from outsiders getting in without knowing the key.

How do I secure my sbg900 from outside users

You need to set security to the router, even if you use wep, it is better then an non secured.

Its hard to explain all the details, please read your manual as this will walk you through the process, wep is easy and the more security you have the more detailed.

You can also set your router to only see your mac address, your mac address is the address of the wireless lan that is in your laptop or computer, each one has a specific number, and it is usually a 12 digit
number.

Every router is different in the security it has and some only have wep, so it depends on your router what security you can set.

If you don't have the manual just go to the website of your MFG and download it.

If you have more questions or help after reading it please post back.

I want to suscure my router from outside users

you'll need to create a security key. You can use either a WEP key or any WPA key. This will be required by the router before any computer can connect to it

Security

first off, your router is a wired router, if your talking about Hackers, well your router has NAT/SPI, a regular standard for router, it is on and alsways on so you wont have to worry about it.

if you have a wireless access-point plugged in to the router, let me know what is the brand and model and i will be more than willing to help you out.

D-Link Wireless ADSL Router - DSL 604+

You will need to set up a WEP key so that only computers that know the key can get onto your router. Use your manual to help you set that up.
