Washer will turn during cycle and drain but will not final spin

  • malonicus Mar 29, 2009

Drum rotates fine during wash and rinse cycles but will not final spin. No error codes but 3 beeps. Removed hose, no obstructions, drains fine

I am having the same problem, washer runs fine just will not spin.

  • ck4franca Apr 03, 2009

Problem is similar to what was previously described. The spinning step does not go its full cycle, which leaves

water sitting inside the washer, after the spin step.

Try not overloading it because that happened to me too so I took some of the clothes out and tried spinning again and it worked. It's fine now.

The washer data sheet for the model # LTF2940ES3
shows that error code E47 says board thinks the PTCcircuit is open in spin . Remove doorlock assembly and check the resistance of PTC if shorted or open then assembly is defective. If the resistance is around 1,500 oohms then control board is defective

Check the Coin Trap and drain hose. If it Can't drain it won't spin. I get socks and thongs stuck in mine regularly. Removing the obstruction fixes the problem.

The motor may be having issues turning, or it shorts out due to the water, i'd suggest checking that it is seald and nothing has burnt out

Asko 620 washer won't drain well with heavy load

Washing machine won't drain

When your washing machine won't drain, it could be as simple as a kinked hose or as complicated as a faulty impeller on the pump. Overloading your washing machine can cause items to be swept into the space between the inner and outer tub, leading to clogs in the drain hose or pump. These clogs may be the reason for why your washing machine won't drain. Here are some steps to help you determine the problem and solution:

1. Pinched hose: Is the drain hose at the back of the washer been flattened or twisted in any area? A pinched hose could prevent the water from draining thoroughly. Gently straighten the hose, and make sure there is sufficient room between the back of the washing machine and the wall to prevent a repeat of the problem.

2. Clogged drain hose or pump:
Does the drum spin normally, but the washing machine won't drain the water? Sometimes a piece of clothing, money, fabric or other debris gets into the water between the inner and outer tub. It may then make its way into a drain hose or even into the pump itself. The farther into the machinery a clog goes, the trickier it can be to remove. Call a repair professional for help.

3. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

4. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

5. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

6. Pump failure: Is your washing machine more than 7 years old? Your pump may simply have worn out. Even if it sounds as though it is running, the pump may not be working well enough to draw the water out of the machine. Replacement parts for pumps are generally unavailable. A new pump may be necessary.

Start wash program, fills with water, then drum does not turn.. Tried rinse progam, water ,does not turn.. Can hear relays clicking but nothin moving. But the time carries on counting down. It does drain...

If the motor is not spinning, you may have a burnt out motor or faulty Motor Control Board. Else, if the motor is spinning, fix the belt from the motor to the drum.

The first thing to check would be you incoming hoses. Pull the machine out, UNPLUG THE WASHER throw down a couple of old towels or have a bucket handy. Unscrew the hoses from the back of your machine and check the little filters to make sure they are clean. If they are, replace them and make sure the water faucets are turned on fully.
While you are there, check your drain hose to make sure there is not a big clog that is stopping the machine from doing anything.

If you can not see a problem there go to the www.frigidaire.com site /support or customer service/enter your washers model # when prompted and you will get al ist of manuals and tech data on your washer. You can download anything that you think might help you. It is all in acrobat format, so if you dont have acrobat reader, you will need to go to www.adobe.com/acrobat and download and install it for free. Good luck to you.

Drum does not spin

I had similar problem recently. It turned out the main controller right above the drain hose exit on the back was the problem. I got a new board from MALBER and replaced it myself. It is working now.
