Question about Goodman Heating & Cooling

1 Answer

Goodman gmh80703an (aa) heater - 3 year old unit. at the end of year 1, the unit would attempt to start its cycle, the blower would spool up and then shut down. It would repeat this process indefinitely. Still under warranty so tech came out, said he didn't really know what it was, and replaced the computer board. Now it's doing the same thing again - cycling on and off when it tries to operate. Not confident in tech and this unit is too knew to have this once... or twice. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Bill

Sounds like a condensation problem, make sure the drain lines are all clear. if there is water in them it will continue to cycle.

I have a goodman furnace with a solid red light. Says normal operation, but ignitor does not light. Unplugged ignitor and still solid light. Could it be the circuit board or something else? Blower

Usually you can visually inspect the igniter, looking for any cracks or breaks in the element. The best way to check it is with a volt meter to see if your getting the 120v to the plug itself, putting your leads in each of the prongs on the plug. If you are not getting the voltage, it's usually the board. Make sure all connections are tight. The heating sequence will be: 1. Inducer motor starts 2. You will hear a click from the board, it telling the igniter to light. It should start to glow. 3. Next click will be the gas valve opening and flames on. 4. Blower motor starts. Hope this helps!

Open rollout or open fuse on Goodman

the fuse is located in the circuit board in the blower compartment and the roll-out is located in the burner section and can be a reset-able switch style or the one time fuse link style which is a a small silver cylinder and is mounted in a ceramic piece and is held in with one screw. Both of these are mounted around the opening of the your burner assembly near the opening. This will be near the area of the gas valve.

I have a builder installed Goodman GDS80904BHA that is approximately 5 years old. Recently, when the furnace completes a heat cycle, approximately 1-2 minutes after the cycle has completed and after the...

I would guess that the fan off setting on your limit is set a little to high. If you have the manual you can see what it says about changing the running time for the fan after the burner has shut off look on the control board and you should see two switches, one to set the time for burners to fire before main blower starts and one to set time for fan to run after burners shut off. To help with the problem you are describing set fan run time up so fan wii run longer. Hope this helps. Thaks.

Furnace blower never blows.

it sounds more like the flame sensor ( a metal rod that is by the burners with a wire going to it and it has a ceramic base). you can try cleaning the rod and if that doesnt work they are not to expensive.
