How to remove the Blower wheel on an Amana Dryer?

We believe that a sock or something else was sucked into the dryer lint compartment when the lint cover came off during a load to clothes. Can anyone tell me how to get it out? The tub will not turn and all the machine will do is growl when we try to use it.

You need to remove the blower assembly from the dryer.

First unplug the dryer.

Take care when you take the dryer apart, watching for SHARP edges

Take the dryer apart, removing the front panel and then the inner front panel of the cylinder. Before you go any further look at how the belt goes around the cylinder and on to the motor and idler pulley.

Now take the cylinder out, and remove the blower assembly, you will need various hand tools to hold one end of the motor and turn the blower wheel off. the blower may have an direct arrow on it to loosen.

While you have it apart vacuum out all of the lint, and put a drop of oil on the bearings of the rear wheels and idler. Blow all of the lint out of the motor.

Amana dryer mod. ned5100tq1 will not start. It only buzzes when i push the start button

Does it buzz or growl? Reach inside and turn the dryer by hand. Is the drum hard to turn? Might be a bad roller or possibly something stuck in the filter chute and lodged against the blower. I worked on a dryer exactly like yours and made a video. If the blower is clean and clear of obstacles and the wheels are fine then the motor needs to be replaced which is easy to do. The hardest part is getting the blower wheel off the motor (backward threads on it) Motor replacement video:

Dryer turns very slowly and makes a squealing noise. There is a burning smell coming from the dryer. What could be causing this?

The most common problem to date is bad blower wheel on certain amana older models on newer ones it is with blocked venting to outsde cause the wheel to overheat neatest the vent pipe and a resulting squeal and binding occurs. Remove the drum and check the rollers. Post the model number I might have a service manual

The blower wheel is making a lot of noise. How do

Remove the front face of the dryer and continue to disassemble the dryer until you have access to the blower wheel. The blower wheel is manufactured with a D shaped hole in the middle. If the whole on the inside of the blower wheel become rounded, then the wheel rotates at a different speed than your motor, causing the loud vibrations you have been hearing.

Using the pliers, remove the holding pin & blower wheel clamp. The clamp is the green ring and the pin is the small horse-shoe shaped pin with an arrow pointing to it.

Pull the old blower wheel off. You should see that the whole in the center is round rather than D-shaped.

Put the new blower wheel in place.

Replace the ring clamp & holding pin.

Re-assemble the dryer.
