GE 29488 My line 1 is inactive and the error message says that it is inhibited. My line 1 in-use button changes from red to greenish and intermittantly says that it is in use. I cannot transfer to this line or speakerphone this line and the calls are not ringing in. Help! Chris

This phone also uses line one as the background carrier for the intercom feature. If line 1 is inhibited this means that the phone is not showing the correct line voltage on line 1. The phone believes line 1 is dead. Use a regular phone and check line one for dial tone. If as the other reviewer is correct, and you are using DSL on line 1 you will need to place 1 filter on the incoming line and feed all of the phones after this filter. This means of course that your computer connection will have to be made at the D-mark as you will have filtered out the DSL to all of the phones beyond this point.

Messaging is inactive on all lines after push functions button and enter 981

Hi. Inactive feature often means that there's a problem with your connection to the call pilot. Do you have lights on your call pilot? Did you assign a mailbox to the extension you're working on? Did you remember to connect the call pilot to a station port?

The 29369 isn't an answering machine. Please consult the the documentation for whatever answering machine *********** has on her phone line.

If you require further assistance, please feel free to repost your question, but be sure to specify the make and model of the answering machine.

The intercom button keeps flashing red and green and it will not let us use it. It says Error: Inhibited

If you have more than one phone then its probably flashing because the phone ID is the same as another phone on your system or not setup up yet with an ID just has two dashes (--). or you if you have more than one phone on the system and have more than 2 lines coming into the phone, they all have to be on line 1 together in the first port on the back. Communication between sets are done on line 1

My intercom button flashed red to green. When I push a line button, I get a two-tone beep but no dial tone. I changed the internal 9 v battery. I unplugged the phone and waited, then plugged it back in....

Each telephone must be connected to line 1 and line 2 for
proper operation. The remaining lines 3 and 4 may — or may not —
be connected to each station as you desire. First plug in the battery, then the phone lines (1 & 2 are mandatory), and third the power cord. If your intercome LED is blinking red and green, then press: STORE IN, followed by "INTERCOM" followed by a free intercom# (i.e., any of the memory buttons 1 through 16 not already assigned to another telephone set). Then wait for the phone to go through its initiation sequence during which it searches each of the four possible lines. After that concludes, you should get dial tone on your active lines. :-) Marco
