Sounds like it has been dropped my friend. Thgere is not really an option but to send it back to apple by ordering a box from thier website.

Obviously if it has been dropped etc, dont tell appple that just say it stopped working :0) Nanos are very susceptible to accidental damage, I had 9 replacements :0(

How do i reset my ipod touch

If you are talking about resetting after your iPod Touch has hung, you need to press and hold the top and home buttons until the screen goes black. If the iPod Touch displays the "Slide to power off" message, ignore it and continue to hold down both buttons until the screen goes black.

Turn on the iPod Touch by pressing the top and home buttons together again just briefly. It will take a while for the iPod Touch to start up from this type of reset.

If you are looking to restore the iPod Touch to factory defaults, you need to start iTunes on your computer and plug your iPod Touch into your computer with the USB cable that came with it. Click on the iPod Touch from the list on the left side and press the "Restore" button.

Frozen forgot password

Press and hold the top button until the iPod Touch turns-off. It may display the "slide to turn-off" notice, but ignore this and continue to hold the top button until the screen goes black.

After this, release the button and then again press the top button and the home button at the same time briefly to start your iPod Touch.

It will take much longer than usual to start up when starting after a reset like this. After the restart after reset, your iPod Touch should work normally.

What should i do

Thank you for contacting Fixya.com with your iPod Touch question Jeremy, I will be glad to assist you.

In regards to your iPod Touch 8G, if it is not starting up, here some steps recommend you try in order to resolve this issue:

First, try connecting your iPod Touch into a different USB port of your computer or notebook to see if it turns on.

If that does not work, then try connecting the device using your USB dock cable with the power socket adapter, into a wall socket and try turning the iPod Touch on.

If this does not work, try connecting your iPod Touch to your computer once again and see if it at least shows up in iTunes under "Devices".

If it does, but the screen still does not come on, try this procedure:

What you can do, in order to resolve this issue, is start by resetting your iPod Touch.
(Note: this does not remove any settings, data or media you have installed in your device)
ā€¢ To perform a hard reset, press and hold your Sleep and Home Menu buttons for approximately 10 seconds.
ā€¢ If you your screen turns on, the goes black that is ok- just release both keys.

ā€¢ If it does come on, the next screens you should see after the black screen, is the Apple logo screen followed by the main screen.

If your iPod Touch remains unresponsive during this entire process, I would have to classify this as a hardware issue and you will need to take your iPod Touch into to your local Apple retail store Genius Bar (need to make a reservation at: apple.com/retail) or your local Apple authorized service provider and have a diagnosis performed on the device to determine why it is not powering on for you.

If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to reply back to this post.

Thank you.

My iPod screen is searching (circle rotating) and is not responding/stopping when I press on/off button, etc. When I attached it to my computer I got an 0xE8000065 error message. Has anyone experienced...

Dana:
Try pressing and holding the top and home buttons until the iPod Touch powers-off.

You will have to hold both buttons down for about 15 to 20 seconds before the screen will go black.

Once the screen has gone black, release both buttons and press them both again briefly to start the iPod Touch.

The start-up time after this type of reset is considerably longer than normal, so do not panic if it takes a while to start up.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for using FixYa and have a great day.

Maybe you should reset your ipod by pressing both the menu button and the power button. If this doesn't work I'm really sorry.
