Weight watchers electronic scale showed overload after I inserted batteries. Now the scale is no good. I never got to use it. What can I do?

The scale is not able to find ZERO and this can be checked by looking at the feet and see if any are stuck down, they have sensors in the feet and the unit checks and calibrates the sensors when it is powered on. .See if you can pull on the legs a little bit and then try it again.

I have an Energizer Model CHDC7 battery charger for AA/AAA batteries. I'm not sure how to use it. Specifically, when batteries are inserted and plugged in, it displays flashing green lights over all...

Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are usually charged in pairs in consumer chargers. The CHDC7 can charge two or four batteries at a time. Their position in the charger is important (see the link at the end of this note). Each battery has a separate pair of green LEDs. There are no other LEDs on this charger. The LEDs light up to show the state of charge. Flashing means it is charging. Solid means it has reached that level of charge (ie, 1 LED = half charged, 2 LEDs = fully charged). The batteries will get warm but not uncomfortably so. After some practice you will be able to tell if they are getting too hot (which may signal a worn-out battery which should then be replaced). Like all rechargeable batteries, NiMH batteries have a finite life (measured in number of times they've been discharged and recharged). IMHO, they should also be used and charged in matched pairs. I mark them when I take them out of the box and keep them paired in use and in charging for maximum life. Yes, the devices that use 3 batteries are a pain to deal with. LOL. All details can be found on this Energiser data sheet: http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chdc7_instructions_english.pdf

P.S. The CHDC7 remains open for charging. Closing it for storage is optional but minimizes the space it takes up.

I have a Digiweigh scale that will not turn on after I have changed the batteries, but worked fine before I did. Any advice? Thanks!

Are the "new" batteries charged. It is not that un-usual for new batteries to be dead after sitting in a drawer for a while or on a store's shelf. Check the new batteries voltage and I think that you will see that the new batteries are really not that new after all.

Hi, How can I replace the power cable of a kirby ? Thanks gs

You'll need three types of screwdrivers. A straight edge, and 2 Torx, sizes 15 and 20.
With the vacuum in an upright position, remove cord from holder. Use the #15 Torx to remove the two screws holding th cord to the vacuum. Use the #20 Torx to remove the screw where the cord enters the vacuum. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the slot on the left side of the "box" and release the tab. Gently pull on box at the top and tilt out. Unplug the old cord and plug in the new.
Reverse these instructions to put everthing back together.

Here's a video showing how it's done on the Sentria. It's the same on my G4, so should be the same for a G6. Excellent video with easy to follow instructions.

I just bought a westinghouse unplugged vacuum cleaner.( It is new) The design is awesome, and when it works it works great . But it has very short battery life. 1 battery lasts only about 5 minutes, and...

Usually a short battery life means bad battries that aren't holding its charge. Being new I would think it would have a year's warranty on it. Find out who is the closest warranty shop and have them fix it.

Scooba 5800 Power button Red Blinking (Continued)

As for which one has the problem, I would say it has to be the battery. Rechargeable batteries of all types are known to have similar characteristics, one of which is discharging the batteries to maintain good rechargeablility. At least one person has demonstrated this for the Scooba battery in the roombareview.com forums when he brought a "dead" battery back to life. He allowed the battery to slowly and completely discharge using a 12-volt automobile bulb, followed by recharging the battery on the Scooba external charger. This procedure brought his "dead" battery back to a full charge! However, other forum members have reported that many have experienced problems with Scooba battery life, and that as a consequence of this iRobot will replace your battery if you call them and report a short-life battery problem. You can contact iRobot at (800) 727-9077 if you would like to report a battery problem and request a replacement.
