Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You may have to go to the Windows 7 site and enter your laptop model in the search box, then enter integral michrophone. There should be an available update for this. Thank you, Dana

While typing the cursor will move to another section of the text and begin typing there. this occurs randomly and without warning

There are two common causes for this on Dell Laptops

1) brushing the touchpad with the palm, or brushing the case near the pad and triggering it accidentaly.

2) a circuit fault that cuases a phantom movement of the pad.

If your laptop has a sensitivity adjustment in the settings for your pad, it can help to resuce the sensitivity.

My dell inspiron 1521 screen goes black!

Yes, most likely the inverter has failed if you can still make out the desktop but the screen is very dim. Below is the link to the service and repair manual for that model.

How do i re-activate hibernate and standby on my dell inspiron 6400. both used to be available but after having it repaired i can't seem to find a way to reactivate them

Type cmd into the start menu search box, and use Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open in administrator mode. You can also right-click the item in the menu and choose Run as Administrator. From the command prompt window type the following command
powercfg /hibernate on
restart your computer and it will take effect.

I TRIED CHANGING THE SCREEN RESOLUTION ON MY HP MINI NOW IT IS B

  • Hit Windows key + R to get the Run dialog box. Even though your screen is blank, Windows will ask you what command you want to execute.
  • Type cmd plus Enter to run the Command prompt. (You may know this as the DOS command screen.)
  • Press Alt+Enter to toggle full screen mode. This will force your video mode to text mode, which should fix the display problems.
  • Type EXIT and enter to close the Command screen. That will return you to Windows mode, and your video should now be restored.
