Hi,
It sounds like your pendrive file allocation is faulty. You need to build one for it. Try to use FDISK utility. Follow below steps to find the tools using windows :
To start Disk Management:
  1. Log on as administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
  3. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window appears. Your disks and volumes appear in a graphical view and list view. To customize how you view your disks and volumes in the upper and lower panes of the window, point to Topor Bottom on the View menu, and then click the view that you want to use.
Please make sure you are working on your pendrive drive letter. or else you will corrupt your HDD partition. on the tool, right on your pendrive letter and select create partition and follow the wizard.
Good luck ;)

I reformat my transcend 8gb d33193 pen drive, however, instead of freeing space, it just adding more used space. Now my pendrive was empty of files but only 319 mb free of space. Please help.

When u r formating your pen drive you have to chose "default allocation size" in Allocation unit size option, than format the pendrive.

Pendrive not formatted

if u still having the same problem, follow these steps:

1.Insert your pendrive. open mycomputer, note the respective drive showing pendrive.

2. Then go to run and type cmd ( or go to command prompt)

3.It will show like: C:\> or C:\Documents and Settings\UserName>

4.Type the drive name of pendrive as shown in e.g
if drive is h: then type as

c:\>h:
h:\>format h:
it will format and ask for media name, you can give the name of your pendrive.

your pen drive is formatted. Now it will show the free space as 8G.B

I have a kingston pendrive of 32gb

i) you said that data is remaining as it when you delete folders one by one in your pendirve, according to me your pendrive is affected with virus, try to run antivirus, spyware scan on the pendirve and see whether you can delete them.... or you can perform format on it....

or

ii) if you have an windows xp cd try to insrt in cd tray and follow the procedure of loading xp(like press any key........) by restrarting system when you reach stage where all your drivers are show on a blue screen(i.e c drive with its memory show, d drive with its memory shown,,,,,
and even you pen drive is shown separtely....with last letter .....and the use key D to delete the partition by highlighting the pendrive and follow instruction complete format the pen drive after that try to press C to create partition so that u can use when you go onto your sytem or desktop(imp: you have to use C key to create partition otherwise ur pendirve will not work.....)

Thanking you

Formattin of pendrive

Your pen drive probably lost or never had a partition table. Unallocated space means the space isn't allocated to either a partition or logical drive.

Rightclick the drive in Disk Management, there should be an option to create a partition. Right after you create it. It wil ask you to format it.

Let me know whether it helped.
Please rate my solution when this was the answer to your solution.
