Acer Aspire one is reading: "Check cable connection!, PXE-M0F; Exiting Intel PXE ROM. No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key" What does this mean and what can I do to repair or by pass this to boot up and fix.

Generally an indication that the Hard Drive has failed. Try reseating the drive and see if it reads again. PXE is a default attempt to boot to a network boot if no hard drive is availabe

No bootable device PXE-M0F


You need to disable booting from the device in the Bios. It will be under the Boot options menu. Uncheck it from the list of devices to boot from.

I hope that you have the DVD Recovery Disks because your operating system is malfunctioning.

If you have the disks, you'll have to use an external CD/DVD Player.

In the alternative, you'll have to install XP/Vista/7. Please connect me if you need detailed instructions.

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

I'm running a Windows 7 netbook- acer aspire one. 32 bit Prossesor- Intel Atom BOOTING ERROR- I press power and the ACER logo pops up (normal) and then: For Atheros PCIE Ethernet Controller...


This message means that the computer cannot see the hard drive. Unofrtunately, this is usually caused by a failed Hard Disk drive. However, you could try removing and re-fitting the hard drive to see if this cures the problem.

Your BIOS setting or boot order was changed to enable network booting (Intel's PXE).

reboot,tap F2 to enter BIOS and navigate menu to disable network booting.

this message is telling you that the system cannot see the Hard drive or the boot files on it... try removing and reseat the HardDrive then power back up ... if this still does not work you may have to get a diagnostic disk to test the hard drive for failure
