Question about Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804 Notebook
You have to integrate the SATA driver into the operating system process to solve this. Its a known problem with Vista. First up download the chipset driver by clicking here
Then follow this article(click) and do exactly as suggested it should solve your problem. Alternatively you can just get yourself a copy of Windows 7 and install it.

Tips for a great answer:
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press delete to enter setup
Press and hold delete during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
this will erase you operating system you have to have a operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system
(note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)
