Depending on the universal remote you can usually program the remote without knowing the codes. One way is to turn on the television, then follow the basic programming instructions for the remote, but instead of entering a code, hit the power button over and over again until the television turns off.

Some universal remotes control some TV functions but not all. You may have to do a code search to find another code that will work with your Toshiba TV. It may be necesary to try another universal remote or even a replacement OEM remote.

0159 0178 0109 0120 0181 0105 0049 0095 0170 0260 0358 0394 0924 0012 0095 0117 0141 These are the setup codes for Toshiba TV, with universal remote control. Just buy one universal remote control, which have these setup codes. Brand isn't a matter. You can get this detail, by the code list, the remote control will have.
On some of the crt televisions you could channel down 5,4,3,2 and then they would go into the line input that way.. Other wise you can get a universal remote and get in.. Im not for sure on the older Toshibas but its worth a try!
Most univ. remotes have a search mode if code entry won't work-
Do you have the comcast instructions ? Something like.....
1) Tv power on
2) Push set-up or program on remote
3)Touch tv button on remote
4) Point remote at TV and push power off. Repeat until TV turns off.............then
5)Push enter to save....
