Here's a demo video for changing the brush, from the Sebo site.

Body of sebo x4 automatic not rising or falling

This could be due to the brush roller being worn.

If the brush roller is worn, then the height sensor makes the vacuum head go down fully. There still isn't enough resistance to the brush, but there is nowhere else for the height adjustment to go, so it just stays there. If you look at the cleaning head from the side you should be able to see that it is fully down.

The brush roller light is supposed to come on, but in my experience, it might not.

How do I replace electric brushes in the motor

It will take far longer for me on how to do this, but I did it myself using this fantastic espares video on You Tube. Carbon brushes are really easy to remove as are other areas. X1A, X1.1, X4 and X5 Extra are all the same model, save from cosmetic differences, different motor outputs and bigger floor head and brush roller on the X5.

Why won't the brush come down anymore. the brush light which should be green is off.

If its a X4 / X5, it may be time to replace the Roller Brush. The brush isn't that expensive. Also buy genuine. We well them for about $40.00 in out store.

My 1 Year Old Sebo X4 was lowering itself to hardwood floor with no air gap. Sebo Support agreed with my repair shop that a new (blue) brush roller would fix the problem by replacing the 'worn" brush (same...

No not quite. For a start, the stiff bristles on the blue roller can last a few years before requiring to be replaced.

The SEBO sensor wheel adjusts to the height required - unless of course the microchip board has been tampered with. If it hasn't been tampered with. If the central wheel is excessively dirty then it could be that the SEBO isn't lowering the height properly. However, the X series is great at cleaning hard floors in general - i it is not designed for the brush roll to fully hit the floor, thus as you suggest crushing the bristles. It is designed, as you recognise quite correctly to skid across a hard floor lightly as there is a squeegee rubber strip built in at the back of the roller bar that scoops all dirt into the central vacuum path. The front plate also lends this job. You are not being conned - however check that the rubber squeegee strip has not worn away - SEBO do sell the strips and they are easy to slide into via the press release door at the side of the brush roll.

If the SEBO has died then its a possibility that there is a microchip function that gone wrong it. Some more information would be good to know here as it could be a number of things such as the cord cables coming away at the handle.

Hi, I've just had my Sebo X4 back from being repaired (motor was growling so Sebo replaced it FOC under warranty) however, the replacement motor is 1000 watts. I queried this with Sebo, as they c

Watt= volts x amps So what are you losing? Not much really. Should they replace it with the same motor? Possibly, but you got a free motor out of them. To be honest I think you're splitting hairs on this one. The difference in how much cleaning that sebo will do with one motor vs the other is beyond minimal. The aggressive brushes on that vacuum do 95% of the carpet cleaning and both motors will have no problem turning it at sufficient speed. As far as suction goes I'd be amazed if it was even a noticeable difference. That's an amazing vacuum you bought, I wouldn't worry about it and go on with life.

Good Luck

Sebo X4 is squealing when pulled back. Takes a while after it's been running for this to happen. We changed the roller brush (needed it anyway) but didn't take care of the noise. Could the wheels be...

Yep - we think Sebos are pretty good too. I work at a Sebo sales and repair dealership! The wheels are a good bet - I can't think of anything else that might cause the noise. If in doubt, I suppose you could simply wheel one around for a while when switched off...

Hi we seem to have a problem with our Sebo .When in use as you draw the hoover back and forth seems to become very heavy to push as if the suction is becoming stronger. PLease can you advise. Mary

As you know, your Sebo automatically adjusts its brush height according to the type of floor it's on. At the correct brush height, on carpet, the machine should almost pull itself forwards. If this is not happening, the first thing to check is to look and see if the bristles on the brush roller are very worn (bristles on a new roller will almost entirely fill the available space). If they are worn, a new roller will almost certainly solve the problem. If the problem persists, the automatic height control mechanism may have failed (possible but very unusual) and a professional repair will be necessary. You may notice that I haven't even mentioned the possibility that one of the belts may have broken (in which case the brush roller will not be rotating at all) - because of the machine's excellent design, broken belts are almost unknown (they can last for 15 years and more) but not completely impossible.
My message in a nutshell: look to the brush roller first. If a new one doesn't solve the problem, go to a professional repairer.
I value your feedback, so please remember to rate my response.  Thanks!

Hi, I have a Sebo X4 which is almost 3 years old. I haven't had any problems with it until the last couple of days when I notice a slight screeching noise when in upright position, coming from the roller...

I dismantled the top part of the machine from the bottom and there stuck right down in the bowels of the tubes was a piece of card, a dress label! somehow it was only making a noise when the machine was in an upright position. It took a bit of stretching and maneurering but once it was out the problem was solved.

I need to know how to repalce the drive belt in a Sebo upright cl

Thanks to its automatic height-adjust feature, the Sebo X4 has two drive belts, one from the motor to the height-adjust sensor, and another from that sensor to the brush roller. To access them, first remove the base from the handle, undo the four recessed screws on the underside of the base, then turn it over and lift off the cover. You will then see the belts. The rest should be obvious (it's a while since I've done one of these, but I think you may have to loosen the screws holding the height-adjust sensor before you can slip the belt off).
I hope this helps. Any further problem, just re-post here and I'll do my best. Good luck!
