the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

What do you do if no bootable device is found

When your pc starts as no bootable device that means it either can't see the hard drive or it's trying to start from the dvd or floppy? Do you know how to get into the bios menu?

BLANK SCREEN FLASHING CURSOR

Ok, here is my next dilemma. I got the install disk and it gets to the point of asking where I want to install windows. The only option is Disk 0 unallocated space with 149 GIGs free. The 3 options I have are Refresh, load driver and Drive options (advanced). What do I do from this point? It says that this computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu. I am stumped at what that means.

My laptop won't start up. compaq screen comes up then the loading bar. Stays loading for about 3 mins then shuts down and starts process all over again

This happens when the operation system is corrupted or files needed for successful boot are missing ..so the the basic fix is to reinstall the operation system or use teh recovery partition if you have one on your laptop or the recovery disk if you got one when you bought it ..
this link will show you how to operate this using the recovery partition built in
http://www.ehow.co.uk/how_8463155_restore-compaq-presario-cq50-disk.html
basically restart and press F11 for the boot menu and select recovery partition ..and go for it ..
If the partition is missing or damaged use a recovery disk if you have ..or a operation system boot-able one ..The last one need to be inserted ..and the computer restart ..and if it is set to boot first from the disk will ask you to press any key to do it ..and you will go on with the instructions for a clean install ..You will need all drivers for it when you finish ..so is best to get them before using another computer ..
here is the support site where you can find them

My compaq presario c700 will not boot and it's saying that there is no bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key, however, i do not have a boot disk

Your Compaq did not detect the hard disk, that is why it is asking for a bootable device such as a boot floppy disk.
Check the BIOS configuration to see if the hard disk is detected, if not then re-seat the hard drive and boot up the Compaq again.
If it still does not boot up, then the hard disk is probably faulty.
To get the Compaq operating again, replace the faulty, install Windows operating system on the new hard drive, plus the Compaq's device drivers and your programs.

Need disks for Compaq Presario CQ50-210Us I want to sell my computer and erase all of my info and get it back to when I first got it from the factory...

I'll ask you not to go for the Factory settings as it worths lots of time

There are two ways to format anything
1. Restore Factory Settings
2. Format on your own.

i Prefer format on your own is more better than factory settings..

All u gotcha do is get a bootable disk of either windows xp or windows vista

Insert the disk & start your laptop
select the boot device
follow the instructions
Once you reach the Drive Selection menu,
select single drive & select delete.
do this for all drives..
now u got a complete RAW hard drive
create a new partition by selecting New & Press enter
click next & its done

This is 200% working solution and its definately gonna work..
If u liked my post, please rate me i really need some good ratings...
Thanks !!!!

NO BOOTABLE DEVICE INSERT BOOT DISK AND PRESS KEY

Do you have your windows OD running? If so, make sure that there is NO CD or DVD Disc left in your CD/DVD Combo drive while you are turning your computer ON. Now, eject the CD or DVD and try to start your computer again.

Computer wont boot

Your hard drive has failed, and thus your laptop cannot read it. Or someone intentionally formatted your PC, and now you have to reinstall Windows.

Or someone messed with your bios settings. When your computer boots up it should say a key to press to get into bios settings, if you can't see it just look in HP's support section of their website, and it should tell you there. When you get into bios settings, make sure the hard drive is at the top of the 'boot list' so it detects the hard disk first. If it still doesn't work, then you have to try reformatting/reinstalling windows, or get a new hard drive.

Compaq Presario 5WV270 Has No Oprating System

installing windows 95 on your pc would require you to have a bootable disk (either a floppy or cd)
insert your bootable disk and go to bios settings --> once you start your desktop pc, press Del key
then go to Boot menu and select your frist boot to floppy or cd (wherever your bootable disk is) then exit and save changes.
once your pc boots from the bootable disk goto C:
then make a directory (let's say Win95) --> C:\md win95
then press enter
then goto that directory which you've just created ---> C;\cd win95
then press enter
then copy your windows 95 disk on this directory
once you finished copy, run setup
be sure to remove your bootable disk the next time your pc restarts or change the boot sequence (again in Bios settings) to your harddrive as first boot
hope this helps
