Question about Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 (cdrvlpe6101250) for PC

1 Answer

I have a Canon version of Roxio My DVD. I connected camcorder to computer and in the software I chose "Add Files". The computer said it was importing and then I was able to see the edit window and play the video. When I closed it asked if I wanted to save changes but since I made none, I declined. Later, when I went into the computer to find where the video was, it seemed to be nowhere. It appears that it only imported to a temp file and then because I didn't save changes it disappeared. I did a search on computer for .mpv files and couldn't find it.

There have been many problems with Roxio. But you should save anything you were working on. You also might consider upgrading to Roxio Easy Media Creator 10 Suite. It has less problems and has been improved to prevent accidental deletion. Also did you hit end program without waiting for the program to shut down?

I require a link to download the software for a Panasonic NV-GS25 video camera to be able to transfer from tape to DVD/PC

As you may know, the Panasonic website has only the update files for the MotionDV Studio LE software that came with the camcorder. However, this DV camcorder has a Firewire connector. You just need ANY video editing software, the right Firewire cable (4 or 6 pin, or 4+6 pin cable), and a Firewire port (add a card to your computer , if it doesn't already have Firewire, aka IEEE 1394A).
  • Apparently, Vista and Win7 on many newer PC's come with something like Movie Maker. Mac OS X has iMovie. Both support Firewire devices.
  • DVD burners and computers with DVD burners usually come with some kind of burner software. Sometimes, they have a basic (Lite) video editing package - examples include Nero, Roxio, and Ulead. Even at the "Lite Edition" level, these video editing packages work with Firewire camcorders.

Can not transfer video from Canon DC10 to Laptop

the way you can transfer your videos on your computer is by using USB cable and install the driver to your computer. You can upload your videos by saving it on ULEAD products. As far as i know you cant transfer videos from disc to your memory card unless it was been converted but you cant view or watch it on your camcorder itself only computer can play this because your camcorder is not able to play such converted files.

i will give you a step by step on your camcorder.

  • connect your camcorder using your USB cable to your computer and be sure it is ON
  • Install the cd driver camed with your camcorder. if you didnt prompt on looking for a driver then go to the add hardware on the control panel and follow the procedure there.
  • after the installation you should see the icon on the my computer labeled scanners and cameras and indicating the model of your camcorder.
  • Install Ulead Power Producer or any editing movie that you have like Windows movie maker, nero movier maker etc.. i prefer to use Ulead because its so easy to use
  • after uploading and editing your videos using ULEAD save it on any various types of videos that you like. you should see it after you want to save it.
  • burn your videos on NERO software
Hope you understand my procedures. Good Luck!

My DVD for Canon

If you have an active license for Creator 6, you should be able to upgrade it to the current version.

If you don't have a license or the CD for that matter you will have to get a new one.

If your computer now has Vista on it, version 6.0 will not work on your computer. They are only supporting version 9 and higher for Vista.

Hope that answers your questions.
