Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

Incorrect right cartridge - unsupported cartridge.

Hi Ms. Mitch.
Using my Dell 924 as always. Today on screen "unsupported cartridge". On printer "incorrect right cartridge". Tried cleaning them manually, can't clean otherwise as printer won't work with that message. Not sure why the cartridge was "correct" yesterday, but not today. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    I have the same problem. I have the same cartridges installed as i did for the last month and today when i clicked on print- the computer screen read unsupported cartridge- (incorrect right cartridge-it reads on the printer itself. I have a dell 924 all in one printer as well. Please help!!!!

    hi, i have a dell A10 926 printer with the same problem.swapped cartridges twice!! and still nothing. just keeps saying unsupported cartridge.
    The guy online told me to run the cleaning programe a few times which i did,but still nothing.anybody got any solutions apart from binning it. would be a great help thanks.

    I have the same problem after using a non-Lexmark cartridge. Now, even have the same problem with the Lexmark correct cartridge.

    Dell 944 all in one, having the problem of not working with the Unsupported cartridge comming up and I get Error code 1102 on Printer screen as well?? Is it fixable anyone I willl try cleaning heads and so forth but I dont know what else to do ? thanks

    Same problem.....unsupproted cartridge even though it is a dell of the correct type that we've always used. No Dell again, ever....

    I have the same problem. Been using cartidges forever, and 2 days ago, a message popped up and eaid Error 1102. Unsupported cartidge. Install a correct printer cartridge. Anyone leanr how to fix this problem yet?

    Cartridges were refilled and worked correctly for several months, although the "Low ink level" message never cleared. Then, suddenly this "unsupported cartridge" message and printer (Dell AIO 924) will not work at all.

    I didn't just re-install the software, I also reformatted. This did not fix the problem. I started fresh, and no luck. Dell is going to get a letter from the Better Business Bureau. Please join me on this at so we can resolve this issue.

I had the same "unsupported ink cartridge" thing going on with hp until I got fed up and uninstalled the hp software and just used my windows devices and printers. Windows will automatically find drivers for your printer and you should be able to choose how much of that software you want to download and install. Eventually I did get some software from hp but I still use Windows fax and scan. When I had a chance to participate in a questionnaire, I made it plain to hp that it's my printer, my ink, my cartridges and I'll do what I want with them. I'll take them out and use them for a planter if I want! In the meantime, I do expect them to print with whatever I put in them. It might not be as good a quality as the original, but it's still my right.

Hi MsMitch,Thanks for the tip. I will try uninstalling and re-installing it and see what happens. I tried going through dell live chat but they claim my warranty is up, and the cost to diagnose the problem will be $50.00. Thats a ripoff huh!!!!. I will never buy a dell printer again.

Have you tried asking Dell in a 'live chat' about that 'incorrect right cartridge' message? Also, have you tried uninstalling the softwear and re-installing it?

Cartridge problem.

Is it a dell cartridge or a different brand altogether?

If it is a dell brand it could be defective. There is a chip that determines if it is the correct brand and sometimes that breaks.

If you have already changed the cartridge to a brand new dell brand one and it is still happening, then I would suspect the sensor is bad. Probably cheaper to replace the entire printer than to send it in for warranty replacement if it still has warranty.

Right cartridge incorrect and printer will not

I have the same issue where the printer displays "Right cartridge Incorrect". However, it's had no problems up until about two weeks ago and I've had the right cartridge in place for about a year or so.

Printer: AIO 922 (All-In-One 922)
Ink: Remanufactured ink

Dell 924 printer shows error as "unsupported cartridge"

You can't have a Dell cartridge refilled. It's Dell's way of making big bucks selling overpriced cartidges. Their practise is almost illegal and eventually they will get sued.
Buy an HP or a Kodak printer. Both sell better printers and their cartidges can be refilled.

Unsupported cartridge error

Sounds like a falty cartridge. Call Dell tech support. The cartridge should have a warranty even if the printer iself does not. They'll replace it.

Troubleshooting Dell 924 all in one printer(Printer reads unsupported cartridge)

Try replacing the cartridge with a new Dell ink cartridge, the refill may have gone bad.

the catridge changed does not meet the specification required,make sure you use the original catridge not adultrated one the printer will reject it

Solve this

I could be mistaken but I am pretty sure the right cartridge should be the black one. I would double check it. Also make sure you are using Dell brand cartridges.
