Dear Tamesu.

You just gave me a very bad feedback just for stating that I was a technician.

If the disk tray does not open, disconnect power cord. Connect back the cord, turn on and click repeatedly on the eject button while unit is starting.

If that does not work, you need to take apart the unit. TEACs of this series are disassembled taking all the screws from botton, releasing the front panel, which is held by more screws and clips, and sometimes you have also to remove sides and back. I have the disassembly diagrams for most of them.

I usually do not answer the chats. They may take an awful long long time. If I answer, that means that I think I can help.

Hope to find a good expert and stick with him/her. Best experts rarely answer chats in here.

Good luck with your problem.

Ginko.

Hi Tamesu. Reading back the chat I also realized that my first answer may look rude. Well it did not want to be. I serviced a good number of optical units similar to this, and I dont even know if I have done the same model. I am not Teac certified, but that won't make a big difference. Recently Fixya got populated with casual posters that often have no experience whatsoever. That is lowering down the asker confidence in our support and is frankly a problem for me and other techs trying to provide genuine help.

I hope you can fix the problem with your unit.

    Best regards.

    Ginko.

How can I connect my CD-RW880 recorder to the

Make sure the phonograph is connected to the Phono Connectors. Hook up your CD recorder to the tape. The play connectors on the CD recorders can connect to the tape play connectors on your stereo. The record connectors on your CD recorder connect to the record outputs on the tape connectors on your stereo. You can also connect you CD recorder to the VCR connectors if you are using an audio tape as your source. All of the outputs and inputs are the same level except the phono.

CD-RW880 records only 10-15 minutes then stops

Hi i would say try other cd recordable media but it sounds like your player has a tracking/laser pick-up problem or a laser mechanism fault,i would suggest you take it to the nearest repair agent to get them to look at it for you. regards. paul.
