Question about T-Mobile Dash Smartphone

Activesync trouble when I try Activesync on my dash, I get this error message "Syncronation cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect your device and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft Activesync Troubleshooter in Microsoft Activesync help on your desktop computer". Only thing mentioned there are about firewalls, but I'm using the same computer that I've always used

Have you tried a differnet cable? I saw somthing similar due to a bad cable - even worse a bad connection on the phone.

- check your device settings on PC.

- remove the device by deleting it in device manager and then re-install.

to go to device manager:
- right click on MY COMPUTER ICON
- Scroll down to manage
- find devicre manager
- look for device under usb
-right click delete.

Updating my tmobile dash


To update your T-Mobile Dash Smartphone, please follow this steps,


1. Download the new software to your PC. You will be instructed to enter the 15-digit IMEI number for your device to access the download.

2. Ensure ActiveSync 4.5 for computers using Windows XP or earlier or use Windows Mobile Device Center for computers using Vista and Windows 7 is installed on your PC. If you have not installed ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center, you can install it from your Getting Started CD or download it from the Microsoft website.

3. Connect your Dash to your computer using the USB Sync Cable that came with the phone.

4. Establish a connection. You will know this is complete when the ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center icon in your PC taskbar is lit green and the status is "Connected".

5. Ensure that your T-Mobile Dash has a battery charge that is greater than 50% (two bars).

6. Remove your MicroSD card from the device if you have one inserted. Do not reinsert the SD card until after the software installation process is complete and the phone is ready to use.

7. Run the software update program you downloaded to your PC and follow the on-screen commands.

IPAQ HX4700 won't sync with desk top


Hello, Please try the following steps. They could help with your problem. First open this link to hp's download page for your PDA. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?&lang=en&cc=us&pnameOID=420535&taskId=135&prodTypeId=215348&prodSeriesId=420534&lang=en&cc=us Then select your pda's operating system (windows mobile 2003se or windows mobile 5). then from the following page select the ROM update and download it. Try to master reset the pda (you may find informations about this in the user manual). After you reset the device, don't tap anything on the screen (don't follow the welcome wizard or anything it asks you to do). Just connect the usb cable to the computer. Activesync may try to connect to the pda, may fail or things like this. It doesn't matter what does it do as long as it does something. Now open the ROM file you downloaded and press "next" untill the process begins. If the setup asks you to reset the device or things similar, don't do it. Just continue with the setup and "tell" the program you already done that. Make sure your battery is charged before doing this. Also make sure the pda and the computer are left alone these 10 minutes (that's how long it takes to do the ROM update). If the ROM update fail, please post a comment and give me the error message and code. We will take it from there. Also please inform me what version of windows are you using and eventually an email adress for me to send various service programs required for the next stage (if the rom update fails to work). I AM TRYING TO SYNC MY HP iPAQ TO MY COMPUTER, BUT AN MESSAGE ERROR SAYS THAT 'RAPI.DLL' IS MISSING. WHERE I CAN DOWNLOAD 'ACTIVE SYNC' AND 'RAPI.DLL'

This package contains the rapi.dll inside it.

Serious Issue re ActiveSync 4.5, HTC Touch, WM6


Try this, I read it on a microsoft.com forum.
Disconnect the device from the PC.
Open Activesync on the device.
Open the "Menu".
Click "Options"
Uncheck "E-mail" from Data you want to Sync.
Click "Done"
and re-sync devise to PC.

Once I did that, my contacts and all my appointments sync'd.
Hope that helps...
It seems tons of people have had this annoying issue.

Syncing with PC (windows xp)


Without seeing the error files, it's hard to say what the problem is, here's a few guesses 1. Did you type your contacts into the default contact list? This is the one at the top of the Outlook folder list. You should NOT create a subfolder because ActiveSync by default only synchronizes that one file. 2. You may have an antivirus or internet security program that is preventing ActiveSync from synching. This would show up in the error log. To try this, turn off: - Any firewall programs (including the Windows default one) - Any antivirus programs - Any internet security programs If this solves your problem you should add them back one by one to isolate the issue. Then when you find the problematic program, manually add ActiveSync to the list of always allowed applications.

ActiveSync Trouble


Hi I had the same error/problem. What version of Active Synch are you using. You may meed to go to Microsoft Mobile site and download the latest verison of Active Synch. This should fix the problem. If you need further help, email me and we can do a go to meeting and i will help you troubleshoot the problem further. I use my PDA for everythin, and I know how frustrating it can be. EM-500 Conection Problem


Upgrade Activesync and the PC's USB driver. Then you should be OK once you upgrade Activesync to V3.6 and then get the latest USB driver for your system. Good luck
