I bought a used Sanyo Hot Water Pot Electric U-C30M. The rubber/plastic ring seal under the lid is breaking down and needs to be replaced. I searched on line for parts but cannot find it. I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Leakage problem at the bottom… Toastess International Kettle Model: TJK-103 120V, 60 Hz, 1500 W She was complaining that our kettle was leaking a bit at the bottom. Warranty is over. Here is what I did to fix the problem. Unplug the kettle and empty it completely. Remove excess residual water inside. Remove the bottom cover by removing the screws holding it. Gently remove the plastic ring screwed in place. Now you will be able to put your hand inside the kettle and push the bottom out, toward the outside of the unit. Take out the rubber seal and clean it. Ours was full of fine residue… Gently dry it out and lube it with tiny bit of silicon. Clean the inside part of the kettle before putting everything back together. Make sure that you don’t squeeze any wires inside. With a lot of patience, put everything back in place. Make sure that the seal is perfectly installed. You can see it looking trough the plastic. Kettle is now fixed and she is happy! ;-)
you will have to get the parts to be replaxced if the gasket is cracket or the inner plastic is cracked you will have to first check out and order that particular part as this parts are not very costly but its not repairable.many users face the same problem of leak when the gasket gets pushed in the plastic and cracks .this creates leak when water passes through that area.
you can get the required parts from

It must be the kettle causing the problem from what you say. If th e kettle is new the problem should reduce with use but if it is old it will get worse (possibbly due to rubber washers/seals perishing)
