Question about Maxent MX-50X3 50 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television

2 Answers

I have connected my Maxent 50 in HDTV to a TV tuner converter to get TV signal, at first it worked, but after 6 months, there is no picture, only sound. So I connected it to a DVD player with TV tuner, still the same, no picture, only sound, what will I do?

Are there solutions other than replacing the capacitor/s. How about adjustments of the settings of the TV like the picture, video or display. Or perhaps putting it back to factory setting again?

    Hi Tim,

There are picture and sound from a DVD, Xbox or Videoke player using the same cable via AV1. It's only the TV picture from a converter or DVD TV tuner that is not coming out, but there is sound from either of these TV tuners.

    Thanks!

OK Tim, will try to do that. Thanks! :)

Can you get picture from the DVD player via a DVD disc, or do you not get picture at all from any source?

Thanks Tim

Ok it sounds like a signal problem then if both tuners will not display, there is no way that both tuners suddenly went bad. I bet all you need to do is contact your cable company and have them reset the signal from their end.

    Thanks

No TV broadcast picture. Is this a tuner problem?

yes it does seem to be a tuner problem , I also wonder what happens when you use the auto channel finder and tuner usually found in the set up section of the menu ? As well as was your TV working before and receiving input via the antennae but has now stopped working in this regard ? I also noted that attaching an analog to digital converter box worked fine , so your TV is capable of receiving a signal via that method , dose the converter box use your antennae input jack or a video jack to send the converted signal into your TV ? if it is using your antennae jack then it may not be a tuner problem .

I would like to know if the Hitachi 51UWX20B television can be connected to the internet.

Your Hitachi 51UWX20B is an HDTV-Ready TV. No Digital Tuner. HDTV-Ready means that your TV set is capable of displaying analog and high-definition digital pictures, but without a digital tuner, it cannot receive the digital signal. An HDTV-Ready requires an external high-definition TV receiver (digital tuner) in order to receive HDTV signals. These external receivers can be called an HDTV Tuner, set-top-box, decoder or DTV Converter Box . So you will be required to purchase a converter box to receive over the air programming from an external antenna.

Is there any way to connect basic cable to the tv without using a converter box or anything else

Recently, I dropped HBO with my cable company and there dont have a box. Since the Maxent 42 is only a monitor and doesnot have a tuner...there is no where to plug cable from the wall to the tv.
Solution...plug cable from wall to VCR/DVD and then use RCA cables (Red,White and Yellow cables) from output from VCR/DVD. works great.

My antenna has a coax-my 50 in Maxent mx50X3 has no coax hook up. How do I connect these two?

That unit does not have a tuner so it does not have an antenna input. You need to connect a cable box, satellite box, VCR with a digital tuner (or an additional DTV box for converted input), or DVR to one of the HDMI, S-Video, or Component inputs to view TV.

Hdtv converter box to vcr

Hi Drtrippy,

If I understand correctly, you are using your VCR for the actual tuning of the TV.

The converter box itself contains a tuner, so you should now receive extra channels available only to an HD tuner. You should try connecting your antenna as input to the converter box. Then output the signal from your converter box to the VCR. Your VCR may then remain connected to your projector.

You may simply think of this as if you are inserting the converter box between your antenna and your VCR, which should be currently connected to receive an over-the-air signal. Remember, as the tuner you will be using is in the converter box, you will need to change channels using the converter box, not the VCR.

Thank you,

Maxent lcd

Your TV is an "HD-Ready" television. What this means is that your TV is ready to accept HD input from an outside source, but doesn't have the ability to produce the content itself. It is a monitor and does not have a digital tuner. Without a digital tuner (or for cable a QAM tuner) you will not receive OTA broadcast HD.

You need to purchase a High Definition capable set-top converter box. The converter box will have HD component out and may have HDMI out, either will feed your HD Ready TV.
