Won't move out of 4th gear, engine warning light is on. Drove 2000 k's in two days Holden Astra 2006 was due for a service but can't drive there now

engine warning lights are also reporters for transmission faults
run the fault codes and check for problem over drive servo/solenoid or TCM problem

Why when i start up my van and put it into drive or reverse it wont move?

run fault codes and check for torque convertor solenoid/servo fault Check that the park brakes are releasing. Check that the selection in the box is actually occurring and not just the shifter moving.

Acopos 1090 booting problem

The issue is that the line filter and the integrated resistor can not secure the restart, so you have to check with your "resistor"

Transmission overheating

Have a transmission pressure test done to check for internal problems . Have a clutch and band adjustment done. Run fault codes to see if all sensors and servos are working. Check for correct oil level in transmission as too much or too little will cause overheating. Consider the load that is being pulled or carried and the conditions for driving.

Setting is stuck on VCR, cannot use DVD functions or figure out how to change it back to DVD

This can be due to many faults as the VCR function has not come back to the MODE STOP/REST /CONDITION and so the processor tends to drive the mechanism to complete to the mode .

Hence please check up with these tips.
1. If the cassette does not loads or if the cassette is locked inside then the machine will shut as the loadind or the servo is defective.
2. If the in detect is not working then the opto devices or proximity sensors/magnetic type can be faulty.
3. If the drum does not rotate it will shut down as well a fault in the SERVO section.
4. Defective HALL IC can shut the switching and so the servo will shut down the processor.
5. Fault in the power section to deliver the correct voltage to the circuits/loading servo to take up.
6. Finally if the loading is not to the MODE switch point or failure of mode can make the loading to trip as it will not complete the load to the desired point.

No sound coming with protection light on

It's either overheated or you may have faulty speaker wiring or a shorted speaker. These directions come from a Samson servo 120a but the theory is the same.

The following conditions will cause the Protection LED to go on:

Initial power-up: For approximately five seconds after initial power-up, the relay

speaker connection circuitry is deactivated and the speaker output is muted. If everything is operating normally, you will hear an audible click at the conclusion of this brief period, as the circuitry is activated and the Servo 120a begins delivering signal to connected speakers (at which point the Speaker LED will light if the Speaker on/off switch is in its "in" position). It is normal for the Protection LED to fade gradually after the amplifier is powered off.

Overheating: A temperature sensing device in the Servo 120a will cause the relay speaker connection circuitry to be activated (and the Protection LED to go on) whenever the operating temperature of the unit rises above a safe level. To guard against this problem, make sure the Servo 120a receives adequate ventilation on all sides ; in extreme environmental conditions, you may also

want to consider the use of cooling fans.

Severe overcurrent conditions: This occurs whenever the signal being output

from the Servo 120a rises to a level above 20% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion).

Shorted speaker cables: This will occur if, due to faulty wiring, the hot and ground signals being output by the Servo 120a short to one another.

Output impedance drops below 2 ohms: This can occur if the Servo 120a is connected to inappropriate speaker systems (see the "Setting Up and Using the Servo 120a" section in this manual for more information).

DC voltage detected at speaker output: The most likely cause of this is an internal failure. In general, any time the Protection LED lights up (other than during the approximately five seconds following initial power-up), there is reason to be concerned. If this occurs, turn the Servo 120a off immediately and carefully check all wiring and external devices in order to locate and correct the condition that caused the LED to light up in the first place.

I have a very high-end JVC hr-s10000u VCR. It's the only deck I've seen that can provide good tracking to piles of videotapes I recorded off TV from the 80s so I can dub them to DVD. Problem is, the unit...

Just a tip to help you out , please checkthis link;

Now your fault, it seems errractic and is not definite.
it is important to note the problems associted when the fault occurs.
So does the drum spin ? if not it can be failure of the HALL ic's mounted for switching detection.or the Drum getting stuck ?
Is the capstan motor getting stuck ? if so remove and reset or the capstan drive can fail.
from what is described it seems to be a servo fault and will require experience to check and monitor the servo for finding the fault or when it occurs.
If the set is hanging it can also be the processor/timer or the failure of safety devices like the end sensors, the dew sensors, the reel sensors.
So I think your set must be in intensive care to be detected but you can take out the drum, capstan , drives to clean and set back

Probably cleaning to the mirrors and glasses inside the laser the problem can be solved, but this is a complicated work if you are not technician I recommend to him that she asks for technical service. Also a bad connection of the flat cable can cause this problem. The detector of synchronism defective also since code SC326 is a fault of detection of synchronism.
