Hello,

In most cases, you can go to bios setup by pressing " delete" or "F2" at first boot when the PC told you to do.

Else refer to your motherboard manual in configuring the bios.

may this help,

Hello here is the homepage:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P4SP-MX&p=1&s=15

Please select your windows system.

Open the bios folder, and click on global for download.

The file has to be unziped.

You also need the asus update utility:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/ASUS-Update-Utility.shtml

With this you can update the bios, while windows is running
You just have to select the bios file, you have downloaded.

But you have to setup the bios, when the job is done.

Good luck

http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=421&tab=1

Click on the -> Manual <- tab.
(Overview/ Specification/ BIOS/ Driver/ Manual/ etc)

Click on -> IG41A-M7S-090206.zip

This is the motherboard manual in Zip file form. Once it is unzipped it is a PDF file. (Unzipped = decompressed) Need guidance in 'unzipping' a Zip file, post back in a Comment.

The enter BIOS Setup utility key is the DELete key.

The window to enter BIOS Setup is VERY small Olla.
It is EASY to pass the small window of opportunity, and not be able to get into the BIOS Setup.

Suggest you use this method;

As SOON as you press the Power On button, start tapping on the DELete key.
You may hear beeps as you do.
These are Stuck Key Error Code beeps.
You know what they are now, so Ignore them.

Tap in 2 second intervals.
You will be in the BIOS Setup utility.

When you unzip the motherboard manual from the Biostar Support link above, you will see there are two files. The file on the Right side tells you about the BIOS Setup utility.

IF, you have ANY questions about what you see in BIOS Setup, and need anything explained, post back in a Comment.

The navigation guide is on the bottom. Additional info about the particular subject you are looking at in the left/middle, is posted on the Right side.
Remember, you have to Save Changes, or it will be like you have done Nothing at all!

HI. I ve a NEC versa pro VA12J. When i start my laptop it starts with beep sound and shows BIOS screen with an error message: 0251: system CMOS checksum bad- default configration used. During this period,...

This "0251" error indicates that the CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor; a memory chip that holds data the computer needs each time it starts, such as the current time and the BIOS [Basic Input/Output System]) has become corrupted or damaged, typically because of one of these three reasons: A BIOS update has gone awry, a recently installed program incorrectly modified the BIOS, or the computer battery is running out of power.

If you recently upgraded the BIOS, the first thing you should do is edit the BIOS settings. The BIOS developer can help you access the BIOS Setup utility and configure the BIOS accordingly. Likewise, if you recently installed a program that may have modified the BIOS, contact the software developer for assistance in reconfiguring the BIOS for the new program.
If you did neither of these things, the culprit is probably a faltering battery. You can probably replace the battery on your own, but the process varies widely depending on the type and age of the computer. We suggest consulting the documentation that came with your computer or contact the computer manufacturer to determine the type of battery involved, where to purchase a new one, and how to replace it. You can also access the BIOS Setup utility and write down the BIOS settings to reconfigure the BIOS correctly after installing the replacement battery. Once the new battery is in place, you will have to reconfigure the BIOS and reset the system time, but the error message shouldn't appear again.

hope this helps

Where can I find info to setup bios. also how do I upgrade bios

Hi,
For this you need to know the exact model of your motherboard. Your current BIOS firmware version can be seen in the BIOS setup window itself ( Press DEL key during your system startup to enter into BIOS screen)
Your motherboard should have Flash BIOS so as to upgrade its firmware. All latest motherboards will have this type only. Goto your motherboard manufacturer website and search for latest BIOS firmware for your exact model. There itself you can find the utility required for BIOS. download that utility and using which you can update your firmware. Please do update your BIOS only if it is required.
I hopt his is helpful to you

I would like reset the password of my d33005 motherboard

Go into the BIOS setup to reset the password. Start by rebooting the system. Before the system starts loading the operating system, the computer will give an opportunity to enter the BIOS setup utility. Usually a screen appears saying to press a key to enter the setup utility; i.e. "Hit DEL to enter Setup". You have to know what key the computer is looking for to get to Setup. DEL in used on the a lot of ASUS machines but you may that to refer to a manual or read the screen just before the operating systems to load. Once you get in, look for something related to security settings. Once it is found under the boot tab. Here is where you can reset the motherboard password. Hope this helps.

Try changing the CMOS Battery, Are you sure you are putting the jumper on the right pins, what happens if you save and exit bios without changing the jumper back, you may be resetting the CMOS with the jumper. does the clock keep accurate time if you leave the jumper on so you can get into the BIOS after turning PC off unplugging power then plug back in and check time in BIOS, if it is not keeping time, you may have a bad battery
