Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

Hi there. I have an old KAC-9020 amp, but it is in very good condition and I wouldn't like to see it go to waste. However, the input for the amp is an 8 pin DIN cable. I could custom wire an adapter if I knew the printout for the DIN plug. Is there any way I could find that information or purchase an adapter that accomplishes this? Thank you for your time, Beau Black

    Hello Julian,

I have a Kenwood KAC9020 and unfortunately I don't have the plug for it either. I just found this amp in my closet with 5 other amps that have been put away for years. If you find the answer, please post it up and I will do the same.

    Regards,

    Ricky

Julian,

I found the owner's manual on the Kenwood website. Please visit the link below:
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/UserFiles/File/Global/Consumer/Manuals/kac9020.pdf

You'll notice that the plug in the diagram is plugged to receiver/tuner/car stereo. Apparently it's a common plug/setup for the Kenwood stereos that have this type of output plug. You would just need to find any Kenwood car stereo that has this output to get the wiring of the plug if you wish to use this amp with a different car stereo. (Or just get a Kenwood car stereo that has this type of output). Good Luck.

What is the p. con on the back of the kenwood 9105d?

Power control wire - tells the amp to turn on, usually connected to the blue/white or blue wire when blue/white is not present on aftermarket radios. On factory systems you usually want to hook up this connector to an acc source on the car

Does an mp3 player put out enough power for input to KAC-624 amp?

Have you connected the rca plugs to the radio or amp directly? If you've connected it to the radio make sure that the input level controls are adjusted AND available on that model (it will say AUX, INPUT, SUBWOOFER, REAR, etc.) Connecting your mp3 player directly to the amp will not have enough juice to hear sound you need to connect it to the radio first.

KAC-9104D output terminals

This feature allows the amp to be paired to any stereo. The input may be in stereo but the amp then changes it back into mono using sound from both sides. Hope this answers your question.

My Kenwood KAC-929 gets power but DOES NOT put any sound out. Whats My Possible problem(s).

Hello Spicer_kyle6,

Possible problems: 1) No output from the head unit. Try a different set of preamp outs. 2) No input to the amp. Check the RCA's and make sure that they are good and coming from a functioning preamp or subwoofer output on the head unit. 3) Input gain turned off or down too low. 4) Speaker wiring shorted, grounded, or open. Check all wires. 5) Speakers defective. Connect to a known good output to test. 6) The amp itself could be defective and still show a power-on indication.

Hope this helps.

Kenwood KAC-929

From the Input of amp, just connect cheap speaker with wires to input of amp.

If you have sound from speaker, most likely the amp is bad or loose connection.
