I can hear people on msn but people can not hear me

The Dell Inspiron 1501 has a set of internal speakers but doesn't have a built-in microphone. You need to plug an external microphone into the microphone jack on the right side of the notebook as shown below. You can open Messenger and click on the Tools tab then select Audio and video setup. (note as there is no built-in webcam, it will just be an audio setup). You may decide later to add a USB webcam with a built-in microphone in which case the plug-in external microphone will no longer be required.

We got a new computer and it comes with a built in webcam but when i try and use the cam on msn it wont work...it just goes all fuzzy. what can i do to fix it?

Configure a webcam can take the course, however, a series of simple manipulations can improve the performance of your equipment.
Launch the Configuration Wizard

Close your audio or video conversations.
Then, in the main MSN window, go to:
Tools> Adjustment of audio and video

Adjust the picture

Once the setup wizard started, let yourself be guided by it.

Select your webcam (its name should appear in the list) and click "Next."

A window appears and prompts you to set your webcam. Check the layout and image sharpness. If the image is fuzzy, adjust the lens of your camera until the image is sharp. Then click next.

Adjust the sound

Once the camera set, the wizard offers to adjust the sound. To do this, select your microphone in the selection, either the webcam or a microphone plugged into the microphone on your computer.

Then select the speaker output of your sound card to hear from your speakers.

The wizard will then adjust the volume of your microphone. To do this, move the cursor until the sound obtained is satisfactory. Then click "Finish". Configuring your webcam is complete.

My Microsoft LifeCam Wont detect on MSN!

Once you have your webcam working outside of MSN you can then proceed to configure it to the MSN software

Its good practice to disconnect / re-connect the camera to the USB port before you start. Sometimes the camera remains hooked up to a previous program and the MSN software cannot find it.

Connect webcam
Open MSN - Windows Live Messenger
Click ( > ) Open Menu > Tools > Audio & video set-up - run through Audio > Next - set your camera default - assess webcam quality and use the Webcam Settings to make any refinements > Finish

My webcam wont work at all on msn

Hi, if the camera works corectamente and only it trumps you when you enter MSN, you must reinstall the operating system with the disc of recovery that it brings the machine, it is possible that for manipulation, installation or a virus they have damaged the S.O and because of it there owes the malfuncionamiento of your camera with the MSN.

It wont work on yahoo or msn

Normal 0 Here is one for Yahoo Messenger.

Which ever Messenger or Skype you are using has to be setup in order to function. What Messenger are you using? I'll assume that you are using YAHOO MESSENGER and I'll walk you through the setup. All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "Calling & Devices."
When that comes up check and check to see that Microphone is set to your audio card.
Next insure that the speakers are set to you audio card.

Then go to "Test Audio "In the Blue print, "Open the call setup Assistant" When the window opens follow the instructions. When finished your camera audio should function properly.

Also you need to go to the Video setup and do the same so it will broadcast the pictures.

You probably already know how to setup Messenger's but if you don't, hope this helps. Bud
