All scanner software give an option of Saving As instead of Save from the File menu. So after scanning the document do not click on Save. From the File drop down menu select Save As and specify the drive you want to save it on.

I forgot my password and when i try to reset it, it keeps saying i need a USB drive but i don't have one can someone help me i have tried everything

There will have been a key made when setting the password and usually it is stored on a usb stick. If you have lost your password, you will have no access to your hdd if hdd password. In that case purchase another hdd and install your OS, drivers and programmes. If windows password, there are various bits of software for sale on the net, none ow which I shall recommend.

I forgot my password how I can download what's up

This question needs clarification. Is "What's up" some kind of social media site? Or are you just saying, "What's up with the fact that I forgot my password and can't download stuff?".

The answer to both of these versions of your question may be:

Usually when someone forgets a password to an online account (facebook, google+, etc.) there is a link to reset your password. Easy.

If you forgot the password to your Macbook Pro then you're probably not going to get your old data back because messing with the "keychain" is not going to work. Apple may have some kind of registrar that you can contact, provided you have the required info, could help you get in but I don't know. You can reset the password though which grants you a fresh start; as if it were brand new.

On a PC there are at least two and sometimes three different places where a password can be set to secure the device; on the BIOS chip, at the Windows (or other operating system) login screen, and sometimes even on the hard drive that the system uses to boot or start-up. There are methods for bypassing each of these but, depending on the make and model of the hardware, results will vary.

BIOS chips used to have a default password set by the manufacturer. It's not so easy any more and you'll have to look up your specific BIOS to find hacks.

Windows passwords can often be bypassed by booting your machine with a bootable thumb drive or live CD/DVD. These are entire Linux operating systems on a usb drive or cd/dvd and once the machine has loaded Linux you can use it's file management software to access many of the files stored on the hard drive by MS Windows.

Lastly, passwords that are set on the hdd itself can sometimes be bypassed by tricking the hardware into thinking that the correct password has been provided. Usually this would be done by using a jumper wire (some have used a paperclip) to "jump over" the authentication section on the PCB of the HDD. This doesn't work on drives that actually encrypt the data using the password as a key and it's much more complicated than it sounds since you have to boot the pc with the electronics inside the HDD exposed and time the jump just perfectly. One wrong move could kill your hard drive.

Obviously, using a password that you won't forget is the best way to avoid losing all your stuff.

My daughters laptop forgot her hdd password,it will not let her get on laptop.tried to download erase hard drive ,cd player will not work .is there any way to download to a usb driver

I doubt you can erase the hard drive unless you can enter the hard disk password.
You can download the hard disk password removal program from these WEB sites, copy them to an USB memory stick and run the program on the laptop from the USB memory stick.

My lacie hdd 500GB, i forgot the password to get into the online interface someone please tell me what the defult might be and if there is a way to reset the password if it is not the defult without...

-Turn the drive off
-When pushing the power button to switch the drive ON, keep holding the power button until the blue LED of the power button starts to flicker and then release the button.
-Then, after 1 or 2 seconds the button's LED should flicker with another rhythm.
-Push the button again. After a few seconds, the LED will flicker again but with a third different rhythm. Release the button. -If the drive turns off then the power button was held in two long during the last step, please try again if the drive powers off.

The product should now be reset to its factory default settings.

In the logon window that opens, type:
    User Name: admin
    Password: admin
(This user name and password is the factory default; if you have already created a user, input your user name and password. This is the administration logon and you can change it for more security if you choose.) The NAS Administration page will open in your default browser.

I need to scan A document using an epson RX425 printer how do I do it #

It depends somewhat on your OS and the software installed you have installed. With a Automatic Document Feed, the pages need to be face up and the top edge forward in the feeder. On the glass platen, put the documents face down.

Open a TWAIN-compliant scanning application (XP, Vista and Win7 all have Paint which can acquire scans). Vista and Win7 also have Windows Fax and Scan. If you installed other software (such as that which came with the scanner), you would use that - Epson Smart Panel or ArcSoft Photo Impressions. Next open Epson Scan (this doesn't work with the Mac software so look at for Mac info). This runs the scan (and any specific resolution adjustments you make). It will generally launch when you hit Scan in the application. You can run Epson Scan alone if you do not want to edit the documents right away. Click Start > All Programs > Epson Scan > Epson Scan to use Epson Scan. In the Epson Smart Panel, you would click Scan and Save to start scanning or Scan with Options to adjust the settings prior to scanning.

If the Epson Smart Panel is installed and set up for it (including having a monitor running), you can also initiate scans from the scan button on the unit. Scan problems most often occur when there is a block in two-way communication. Try a new data cable and a different port. If you have a USB hub or print server, try a direct connection. The cable should be under 6' long for best results.

I hope this helps.

I forgot my password

Some body had posted this solution at one of the forum sites. Not sure if it will work for you..
I resetted the bios password of my second hand Acer Aspire One 110 with the software killcmos on a bootable USB Stick, which resets CMOS Settings to factory defaults. Worked without a Problem for me.
This is how it works:
1. Get an USB Stick and format it to FAT or FAT32
2. Get the software Unetbootin to create the bootable Stick:
3. In Unetbootin, select Distribution: FreeDOS 1.0 / Type: USB Drive / Drive: Drive of your USB Stick
4. Get the software Killcmos which resetzts the bios: !!! ATTENTION - Virus Scanner will detect it as a Virus, but it is not. It has the capability to change the Bios and that’s the reason why virus scanners alert. So turn your virus scanner off or exclude this alert.
5. Drop killcmos on the USB-Stick
6. Boot from the stick and when arriving in Freedos select Point 5 (Cd only something), then find the stick with dos commands and run
Attention, this is for experienced users who know what they are doing. Anybody following this doas it on his own risk!!

I do not have any exprience with using this.

Dell inspiron password removal hdd

Usually, the hdd password is set the same as bios password. So we can recover the BIOS password directly from the laptop security chip. But if the hdd password is set not the same as bios password, how do you remove hdd password for Dell inspiron?

Therefore, you have to use password cracker only. If you still remember hard disk password, or you remember bios password and bios password is the same as hard drive password, follows the below article to remove it.

Replaced hdd on emachine w3615,light on mobo but it wont come on.

Hi ipackrat21, that little green led you see is telling you the motherboard has standby power. (Its supposed to be green & on).
Make sure the hdd jumper is set to, master without a slave). In a one hdd system.
When you replaced the hdd you also need to enter the bios menu.
In the bios you'll need to make some changes. First you should see the new hdd listed in the bios. (Normally it list the hdd by model). If your hdd is shown than go to the title "BOOT". You need to set the boot order. A normal boot order would list like so;
First boot device, Floppy disk drive".
Second boot device, "CR-ROM" drive.
Third boot device, "Your new hdd".
If your bios does not see your hdd you'll need to re-check the data cable from the board to the drive. (Make sure it is fully connected).
If the drive is an IDE/PATA make sure it has power. A 4-pin molex.

Still have trouble, post it here.

Scan copy to computer

Please check the original software disk that accompanied the scanner. You should have the option to install a twain or twain32 driver at the least, which would allow you to scan from within a graphics program (photoshop, or even paint).

Unable to write to file

I had the same problem and fixed mine without re installation. Even though the error does not indicate it very well, the application could not write to the destination. The EPSON Scan application has a destination in two places. One under configuration, in my case, correct. However, a more buried location, next to the Scan button, press the arrow to edit more settings. There, you will find another destination, in my case, incorrect ( a folder that did not exist). Change the setting to a folder that does exist, it should work. Check out my fix here, detailed with pictures. Thank you. Hope this helps someone.
