The way to tell if you have either an 816 or an 824 is by the ammount of dss buttons on the left side by the handset. If there are 16 then its an 816, if there are 24 then its an 824. It should also be on the label on the bottom of the phone if its still there. hope that helps.
To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is). with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED 1) enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming) 2) enter in #62 the screen should say day ring assn 3) press the line you wish to program 4) press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset) 5) press # when finished with the line 6) repeat steps 2 through 5 for the remainder of the lines you wish to change press #when finished. hope that helps
Did you try to set the time and date again ? MMC # 55 sets the time and date in a 24 hour format even if you have a 12 hour display set. YY MM DD W HH MM must be set in this format.
W=Dayof week with 1=Monday, HH MM must be in 24 hour clock. Good Luck
The blinking light on the speaker button means the forward when busy is on. To cancel it- With the handset on-hook dial #12. Then press your own station number. Then dial # again. The speaker button should stop flickering. Note: If the SPK button continues to flicker, Forward all is activated. It is the same process as above but use #11 instead of #12
