Not really, but if you've had the issue, maybe the vent tube is allowing gas to be dripped into the carbuetor compartment behind the filter. Sometimes, when held horizontally, they will leak a bit out and older saws sometimes have the vent line to deteriorate from the alcohol in todays fuels causing a few drops of gas to escape. I've worn out two 041 Farm Boss saws and never a problem other than normal maintenance.

The best thing and not so cheap is to replace the points with a electronic ignition coil. We do this at our shop all the time.

set both the H and the L jets at 1 1/2 turns out and then fine tune it from there . This is usually a final setting . hope this helps you
