Question about Cameras
this problem is associated with the ccd imager chip, and ccd will most likely be in need of replacement, although poor internal cable or solder connections at ccd may also be,but I suspect defective ccd imager. This is a very invasive replacement and disassembly procedure and I recommend service.Due to the fairly recent mfg dates on this model I will suggest to contact mfg for warranty repair or replacement.Contact Sony factory service at (866)357-6230.
There were few reports of firmware to be at fault as well. However, it would be really tough to diagnose the exact cause without opening the cam.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
