Look if your camera see the card on its menu.Try to put your card into a card reader or another camera to see if is working properly. It may be defective, i see a couple of those cards with problems. If the card is OK then is a camera reader failure. Look with a sharp light in the card compartment and see if those tiny contacts are in good positions, maybe some are bended, try to fix them with a needle and try again.

Just bought power saves 512MB SD card and I can't seem to get it to do anything but show me 175 photos of other people. Is that normal?

That's odd.
Is it pre-owned? if so, they could have deleted the cheats and used it to hold pictures in their camera. I would suggest
getting a new one or go to www.coadjunkies.com and download cheats there with the sd card inserted into the computer.

How do i save the pictures to see them without a memory card

there is only a 16 MB internal memory built into the camera, which at 5 Million pixels will allow you 1 or 2 photos, so you will have to by an SD type card, i would suggest either a 512MB card or 1GB if you are taking pictures at the highest resolution.
