Hi,

This is a common problem on Kitchenaid. There is already a service pointer for the same. You could read :-

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/d12cd4888abce86285256a42005ea985/3976dc6fea92e1c385256fc4006611c9/$FILE/8178496.pdf

You need to have acrobat reader to view the file.

I don't know which model # you have. However below are four codes (seperate) you can try to enter.
First code: Sani Rinse, Heated Dry, Sani Rinse, Heated Dry.
If that doesn't work, try: Heated Dry, Normal, Heated Dry, Normal and then pressing cancel.
Third code: Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry - Hi Temp Scrub - Air Dry
Last code : Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry

If that doesn't help do the following in steps:

  • Crack the door open.
  • Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
  • Close and latch the door
  • Press the cancel button
Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Clean light blinking

If the clean light blinks four times and then pauses and then blinks four times again and repeats, the problem is your pump motor. If there is water under the DW the pump clamp has probably failed and sprayed water onto and inside the motor. Call a certified Kitchen Aid repair service.

Clean light flashes on and off 7 times, then a pause. Then repeats the sequence. Machine will not start regular cycle.

The clean light blinking 7 times can indicate a heater failure.
Press Heated Dry, Normal Washer, Heated Dry, and Normal Wash.
This sequence will run a diagnostic test and clear the error temporarily but if the dishwasher is not heating the water the error will happen again.
If the problem is a reoccurring one then I recommend checking the heater amps if you have access to a clamp-on volt/amp meter.
Remove power to the dishwasher and remove the access panel. See image below. Clamp the meter around the black or white wire at the junction box and restore power and run the test cycle. During the test the heater will come on and the meter should pick up about 8-10 amps. If you get no amp draw then the heater is not working and is the cause of the clean light blinking 7 times

The dishwasher will not Start and the Clean Light keeps blinking

Hi,

This blinking indicates the water did not heat up properly in the heated wash part of the cycle. I have put together some instructions on resetting the control so you can use the machine and some details on why it might have happened. Follow the link and if you have any trouble let me know.

Clean light is blinking. dishwasher won't turn on

it is a problem with the heating cycle.Dishwasher “Clean” Light Blinks 7 Times The electronic control looks for a temp. rise of 2° - 4° F.
If no temp rise, the control assumes a heater fault and blinks the clean LED 7x.
Check the heater circuit, water fill, wash pump operation, and neutral side door
switch.
Run a Diagnostic Cycle to reset the control.
REPLACING THE CONTROL WILL NOT RESOLVE THE CONDITION.
All Electronic Controls
S.O.P. – Standard Operating Procedure Whenever an electronic control is suspected
to be the cause of a product failure: before replacing the control, disconnect and then
reconnect all of the wiring harness connectors to ensure proper electrical contact.
I hope this helps.

KUDI01TJWH0 kitchen aid....the clean light is blinking and wont do anything else....how do we reset or do we just need to take it in for repair?????

To invoke the diagnostic cycle, perform the following key presses in less than 6 seconds while in standby.

Heated Dry -> Normal -> Heated Dry -> Normal

Invoking the diagnostic cycle clears all status and last run information from memory and restores defaults. It also forces the next cycle to be a sensor calibration cycle. (quoted from service diagnostic cycle notes in troubleshooting guide)
