Hi, the code means a rotor position sensor error. The first thing you want to do is see if the basket turns freely by hand. I had one the other day where a dish towell was caught between the basket and tub giving the error. You will have to open the top by using a putty knife and pushing in on the clips on each side. They are strong clips so you have to use some force. The whole top will lift up. Next you will have to remove the tub ring. It just snaps off. If you don't find anything between them, then I would suspect the rotor sensor itself. At the factory they sprayed a protective coating on them and sometimes this causes the problem. You would have to tip the washer back. The motor cover comes off witha allen head, just pulls down. Now there is 4 screws that hold the motor in place. Once you drop them, the plastic cover protector will come down along with the motor so observe carefully where it mounts back up. The motor connector will be the 3 pronged harness on the right side of the motor. The rotor position sensor will be on the left. Snap the positon sensor in and out about 8 or 9 times to get the coating off. If this doesn't work, and you keep getting the error, you will have to order the position sensor. I have had to order the harness as well in some cases.

Its says f51 error

Hi,

The error means that washer repeatedly quits mid-cycle. Basically, the F51 error is a rotor position sensor error.

Also check the below article for details:

What does F 51 mean?

The F51 fault code on your Cabrio washer indicates that the control board is not sensing the proper drive motor spin. To clear the fault code, press the Pause/Cancel button.

Make sure that the drain hose is not stuck way down the stand pipe. This can cause siphoning of fill water which will inhibit proper motor rotation.

Check to see if the wash basket spins freely. If it does not, you may have an item of clothing stuck between the outer tub and the inner basket. This restriction in rotation will also cause an F51 fault code.

If these tips do not help you resolve the F51 problem, then you probably have a component failure. Possible failures include: wire harness or wire connection problem between the machine control and the RPS sensor (Rotor Position Sensor), a failed RPS sensor, a failed drive motor, and a failed machine control board.

Wtw6600sw2, cabrio giving me the F50 code. Any ideas as to what that means?

F50 - motor stalled The biggest problem with this machine is the rps sensor. If you pull the motor cover you can get to the rps. Then take the rps on and off about 5 times to remove a factory coating that keeps it from making the contact that it needs. For some reason the machine will work fine for several months after purchase before this occurs. After you do this it works fine. F50 f51 f70 codes

Whirlpool washing machine - F51 code

F51 - This is a motor Rotation Positioning Sensor failure. If this persists you will eventually need to call in a service engineer to repair it as the machine will eventually stop working altogether.
