Below is the procedures for setting the languages...
Touch tools > settings > language > voice.
Voice- changes the language for voice promts.
Languages noted with a persons name are (tts)
text to speak voices.
which have an extensive vocabulary and pronounce
the street names as you approach turns.
The pre-recoreded voices (those without a persons name)
have a limited vocabulary and (do not speak names of locations or streets)
Text language- change all on-screen text to the selected language,
changing the text language does not change the language of user entered data
or map data, such as street names.
Keyboard- select the keyboard for your language,
you can also change the keyboard language mode from any keyboard
by touching the mode button
Adjusting the volume levels
From the "menu" page touch "volume"
to adjust the volume.
To adjust the volume levels for the media player
and the navigation prompts,
Tools > settings > Volume > Restore
Restore will, restore to origional volume levels.

On your GPS device, Touch settings>Select language>Select Voice and select the TTS(Test To Speech) man or women to speak.
Make sure the volume is up, and the mute is off.
The pre-recorded voices(those with out a persons name) have a limited vocabulary and do not speak names of locations or streets.
