Hi just read your posting. Now, by memory , the 2 halves are clipped together.Last time I replaced the handle on this model I used a small screw driver to separate the 2 halves. Have you got a new handle for the door assembly? If you have then you will not get confused on how to put it back together once the 2 halves are separated.Check the door closely and you should see the 2 halves clip together. Please reply on whether you have a new handle assembly for your machine and I will check to see if my memory of your door is correct.Looking forward to your reply.

Washer/dryer has completed two cycles and the door won't open

The door lock mechanism is stuck. You will need to get access to the back of the machine in order to undo the screws holding the top of the machine on. Make sure the machine is unplugged from the pains supply, there are wires attached to the switch and they may be live. Remove the top of the machine and reach down inside to where lock is (near door handle on front), push on the back of the lock/switch and it should release. If the problem re-occurs then the lock/switch will need to be replaced.

How do I remove the doorknob to possibly oil it?

it would depend on the door knob construction and what was stiff inside it.
The problem could be part of the handle or part of the lock mechanism.
For a typical indoor door lever handle, undo the screws on the face plate and take the handle off and oil as appropriate. You may have oil handles on both sides of the door.
For a rotating door knob handle there is generally a single screw on the underside of the knob
For a lock mechanism, you could just spray oil inside the mortise moving part (you wouldn't have to dismantle anything to do this!).
However to dismantle it, you'll need to remove handles on both sides of the door, remove the square bar that slots between both handles and remove the lock mechanism (you may have to remove locating screws that exist on the mortise face. If lock mechanism is user serviceable then there will be screws to undo to allow it to be dismantled. If none exist then it is probably worth buying a new one.

GB2FHGXB01

Are you sure of the model number? I don't see a Whirlpool GB2FHGXB01 ; I do see a model GB2FHDXWB01.

For this model, there are several different door handles. One has a Philips head screw hidden under a trim piece. To expose the screw firmly push the trim away from the center of the handle. (This is for a standard Whirlpool fridge door handle.)

The French door style refrigerators have slightly different door handles. One uses Allen screws as set screws to secure the handle. (This screw needs a 3/32" Allen screw (hex key) and you can access it through a small hole in the underside of the handle on the loose side.) Be careful not to overtighten the screw or you may strip the threads and have to replace parts.

The other option has the handle mounted on brackets on the door. To access the bracket, grasp the freezer handle and pull it to the left. Then pull the handle away from the refrigerator.

For pictures of the handles, see pages 9 and 10 of the manual. It's available here: https://www.whirlpool.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10366204.pdf .

I hope this helps. If you do have the GB2FHGXB01, check if any of these directions help. Most refrigerators use one of the above door handle designs.

Door lock mechanism stuck in locked position with the door open. Can not close door. How can I unlock it?

sounds as tho you will need a new interlock unlocking it will not cure the problem. Easiest way to it is to undo the wire round the door rubber pull off the door rubber from front of machine undo door lock screws at front then you should be able to clearly see the lock dont take any wires off till you are absolutely certain of the exact place they came from.

Broken door handle Hotpoint WD860

Managed to work it out, you have to slide the outer door case away from the handle locking mechanism, slide left and move away (after undoing the 6 screws on the inside) :-)

Change grip/handle on a indesit washing machine w105tx

Undo any screw that you can see on the inside of the door frame, and then prize the two halves apart,
This should give you access to the door handle assy.
Hope this helps.

WF860 Door stuck in closed position.

FIRST switch off and unplug.

Pull machine out and remove lid by undoing self tapping screws at the top back. May have to slide lid back a bit to lift off.

Internal catch mechanism will be reachable from top for manual release. You may need someone to push door inwards while you release catch.

Good luck
