Question about Bosch 24 in. SHU66C02 / SHU66C06 Built-in Dishwasher

1 Answer

My Bosch diswasher is hanging up in the cycle (at 102 mins. in normal cycle and 38 mins in quick cycle). I hear what sounds like a one second pumping of water into the sink area, a pause, and then another one second pumping of water, on and on, but there's no progression beyond this point. One possible cause: a few weeks ago someone turned off the hot water at the heater and another person tried to run the dishwasher. The dishwasher did not function because it could not get hot water. Perhaps this event led to the current problem. Suggestions appreciated.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with check the water inlet valve which is located behind the lower access panel on the left or right side of the Dishwasher. If the water inlet valve is bad you have to replace it, also check the main water line for clogs/obstructions. If still the issue is not resolved then it's a bad float switch and needs to be replaced. Please accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Bosch diswasher, model Sms68m02AU trips circuit breaker

rcd units trip from the milliamps that are in a short
it trips the rcd to prevent electrocution and acts in nano seconds besides being a circuit breaker for excessive current
the trip can be from moisture allowing a current leakage to ground or some other simple operation
I suggest that you get in a qualified electrician / bosch service technician to find the reason for the problem rcd

Bosch Diswasher

Remove the drain hose and check if you have any residual into it. After 11 years your appliance may need a thourought cleaning.
Check also if the pump has enough pressure.

My Bosch diswasher SHU9925UC makes loud squeaking noises during times of the cycle. If I turn the dishwasher off during water cycle the noise will continue. Do you think it is my pump? Should I clean...

Hello jlerms,

I won`t say this is something you can`t fix yourself, but I will say what it sound`s like based on your description and my experience with Bosch...and it is quite a repair.

I think what you are hearing is the bearing in the pump impeller assembly. After a period of usage (depending on what cycle has been chosen most often, the hotter the cycle chosen, the sooner it occur`s)the bearing becomes worn and as a consequence`develop`s a squeaking and in some cases fail`s completely causing the circulation pump to leak and potentially destroying the motor as well.

Earlier Bosch/Seimen/Gaggenau/Thermadore dishwasher`s had what B/S/H (The manufacturer) refer to as a "hard bearing" but have since revised the impeller kit, #167085, or a complete motor & pump assembly with a softer bearing # 239144. I don`t know how old your`s is, but the truth is it still happen`s to the revised design...just not as often.

As I alluded to in the beginning it is quite involved to expect a novice to repair it, heck it`s a 30 min to an hour job even for an expert like me. It is a repair that requires some familuarity with these unit`s and therefore I`d suggest you call a pro who is an authorized Bosch repair person only. You`re the authority, I just see many machines with much service history that may have been avoided if done by a qualified tech and done right in the beginning...especially on hi-end appliances. I also understand one wanting to save money on repair`s, I`m a consumer too in many area`s outside of appliance repair.

Hope that help`s move you forward and perhap`s a little insight to help make a decision on how to repair it.

Thanks for coming to fixya. Please take a second and rate the info I provided for you here at fixya.

Thank`s again and good luck.

I actually don't know what type of Bosch I have. I know that is a problem, but maybe you can still help. It has a simple panel that says: Pot Scrubber, regular wash, quick wash, rinse and hold. When I turn...

On a Bosch dw, it has a light sensor to sense soil in the water.. if the control feels that the water going through the sensor is not clean/ or clean it will add or minus time..one thing you can do is make sure that your drain line from dw to sink drain is cleared of debris.. also, make sure you clean the filter at bottom of dw and make sure its reinstall correctly if you haven't already do so.. if your dw finish the cycle and come out clean, then the time on your dw is fine,, but if it don't finish and come out dirty.. then, it could be something other, but don't know til I get the full details on problem.. help this will do it for ya.. good luck.. mike
