Common problem. Power transistor in channel#2 is weak or out completely.
Bridging converts from 2 channel(stereo) to mono and you are are useing both channels in series to effectivley double your output.

Any direction on where to start testing. I will have to pull tha schematic.
ARE THE POWER TRANSITORS EASILY REPLACE ABLE.
IF I KNOW WHAT TO REPLACE IM SURE CAN HANDLE IT. THANKS FOR ANY GUIDANCE

Start by checking the out put from your power transformer.
You will have leads going out to both amplifier sections.
The voltage should be the same for both sides.
If one is lower than the other, it meens your power transformer needs to be replaced.
If they are the same check your transistors. They look like a beer cap with flanges coming out of both sides with either screws or rivets holding them onto the heatsinks.
If your voltage coming out of them is the same, check your capacitors.
Be careful with them - they hold a powerful charge that cam be deadly !!!
My guess without testing would be either transformer or transistors.
Bad capacitors sometimes will have a strong burnt smell. If you smell that when you open the cabinet you will know what that is.
And, yes, they are easy to replace.
Good luck and if you have any questions let me know.

My crown 602 xls tripped a breaker, I reset breaker regained power to receptacle , I lost power to the amp no led's come on front when i pushed the small reset button on the back I still did not regain...

They use a breaker instead of a fuse.

CONDITION: No

power to the amplifier.

POSSIBLE REASON:

• The amplifier's Power switch is off.

• The amplifier is not plugged into the power receptacle.

• The amplifier's high-voltage power supply circuit breaker has tripped. Verify that the AC mains

voltage is correct, then press the Circuit Breaker button on the back panel.

Take it to the ER.

Amp comes on running 2 12" 450 watt pioneer subs, volume only seems to be about half output, with speakers bridged

This could be the reason. If you look at the specs for this amp you will see that the continuous power out is rated for 380W bridged. The speakers rated at 450W should be able to handle close to 315W continuous. Now if you split these numbers being you have bridged these speakers, you drive each one up to about 190W continuous. The speakers are being driven approximately by 60% of the rated capability. I personally like to keep it right where you got it, not exceeding 80% of the speakers rated capacity.

Here are the specs for the AMP:
  • Specifications
  • Peak Music Power 760 Watts
  • Number of Channels 2
  • Load Impedance Capability 2~8 Ohm (Stereo), 4~8 Ohm (Bridged)
  • Continuous Power (4 ohm) 125W x 2
  • Continuous Power (2 ohm) 190W x 2
  • Continuous Power Bridged (4 ohm) 380W x 1
  • Frequency Response 10Hz ~ 50kHz
  • Total Harmonic Distortion 0.008%
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio 100dB
  • Dimensions 12" x 2-3/8" x 12-3/4"
  • Features
  • Bridgeable
  • Channel # Capability 1/2/3
  • PWM Regulated MOSFET Power Supply
  • Screw-Type Speaker Terminals
  • Balanced Isolator Input Circuit
  • RCA Inputs 2 Channel
  • Input Level Control Hi-Volt (200mV ~ 6.5v)
  • Built-in Crossover Selectable LPF (80Hz, -12dB/Oct.)

Left channel not operating on crown xls 602

Every time i have this prob i've blown that channel. In my case i,ve had dodgy connections to my speakers and if it is operating with high voltage rails they don't take much to blow.
Take off cover and you will no doubt find fuses somewhere blown. If it has come from speakers you prob done the amp but if not you might be lucky and just have to replace a single fuse or so.Good luck,Paul

The fault light immediately comes on my Crown XLS 602 power amp immediately upon turning it on. It will not go out?

Hi try disconnecting the speaker outs and turn off bridge (if its on) If it doesnt work still, then suggest direct to a crown agent. The amp has a 3 year no fault warranty. Hopefully its still in!

    All the best

    Fault lights

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the channel 2 does not work in bridge mode. Bridge mode effectively turns the amp into a mono amp, thus there is no channel 1 or 2. The fans will only turn on when the heat is high enough, so that is not a problem. Please describe what you perceive as the problem with these and I'll try to help.

    Thanks,
