Need specifications for motherboard MB.N6702.001

Hi,

Unfortunately motherboards made specifically for named manufacturers like HP, e-machines and so forth are supplied without and end-user documentation.

The best thing to do is to look up the model number of the computer (not the motherboard) and see what processors are compatible.

Asus Support > M2N68-AM SE2 motherboard > Main Support page,

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM2Plus/M2N68AM/

Click on Download.
(Overview / Specifications / Download / etc )

To the right of the OS: box, click on the blue down arrow.
In the drop down list click on the Operating System you are using.
Wait a couple of seconds.

Scroll down, click on + sign to the left of + MANUAL (16)
Scroll down again.
To the immediate right of the manual files listed, is another blue down arrow.
Use it to scroll the files down.

Look for Version E4374.
(2.28MB. I think it is better than Version E4417)

Click on the blue -> Global <- for Version E4374.

A small window will come up on the right;
Opening E4374_M2N68-AM_v3_manual.zip

Make sure there is a green dot, in the circle to the left of -
Save File.
If not, left-click in the empty circle to the left of Save File.
Now click on OK at the bottom.

A small window will come up on the left. In the wording tells you where the file will download to. You may wish to write it down.

Don't know which version of Windows you are using, WinXP, or WinVista, or Win 7, for the computer you are downloading with.

Guiding for all of them.
WinXP:
In the wording may be Desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads.

Desktop: The file will be on your desktop screen.
My Documents: Click on Start, then on My Documents
Downloads: Click on Start, then on My Documents. DOUBLE-click on Downloads.

Windows Vista, and Windows 7:
(Taking the long way)
Desktop: The file will be on your desktop screen.

Documents: Click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents.

Downloads: Click on the Windows logo button, then on Documents, then on Downloads.

When you see the file name DOUBLE-click on it.
In the next window go to the far left, and click on Extract all files.
In the next three small windows click on -
Next, Next, and Finish.

In the last window click on the red Adobe PDF icon, that is next to the file's name.
You will now be looking at a PDF file version of the motherboard manual, (User Manual), for the Asus M2N68-AM SE2 motherboard.

Did a fresh install of win xp pro 32 bit and now I have no sound

Download the RealTek AC'97 audio driver for this motherboard. Install it, restart your computer.

Gigabyte Support > GA-7VT600 1394 motherboard > Downloads > Drivers,

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=1667&dl=1#driver

To the right of where it states > Choose your OS: , click on the blue down arrow.
Now click on the Operating System you're using.
Click on Windows XP 32bit

Download the RealTek audio file. Go to the right under the heading > Dowmload Here, and click on the Country nearest yours.

In the small window that comes up click on Save File.
(Opening motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_whql.exe)

Quickly look at the other window that comes up, at the top of the small window.
This states where the file will be downloaded to.

May have desktop, or My Documents, or Downloads in the heading name.

After the file has fully downloaded, close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.
Is the file there?

The file name is motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_whql.exe

If not look in My Documents. (Documents for Vista)
Click on Start > My Documents

No?
Look in a sub-folder of My Documents. Downloads.
Click on Start, click on My Documents, double-click on Downloads.

When you see the file name Double-click right on it.
Now follow the Installation Wizard's easy instructions.
(Essentially click on Next, Next, and Finish)

How to find mother board model

Below is a short listing of each of the different methods of determining the type of motherboard in your computer.
  1. If the motherboard is in a working computer there are several different software programs capable of determining the type of motherboard in the computer. See document CH000017 under third-party programs for a complete listing of these programs.
  2. Unfortunately, without any documentation, determining the manufacturer or model of a motherboard can be cumbersome if the above software solutions do not work. If you have lost your documentation and/or your computer did not included any documentation, you can open the computer and visually inspect the motherboard for a manufacturer and model. In many cases, computer hardware, expansion cards, and/or cables may need to be disconnected or removed before you can inspect all portions of the motherboard.

When looking at the motherboard, the model number and/or manufacturer is usually on a white sticker or a silk screen on the very edge of the motherboard that will have a manufacturer, model, and/or part number that can be searched for additional information about the motherboard.
  3. If you only need to determine the chipset and not the motherboard manufacturer or model see document CH000634 for additional information.
  4. If you are looking for additional information about the type or form factor of the motherboard, please see our motherboard help page and/or form factor definition for additional information about each of the motherboard form factors and information on how to distinguish the type of form factor.
  5. If you are unable to locate a manufacturer or model number of the motherboard, but are able to locate a FCC identification number, it is recommended that you perform a FCC search using that number.

Connecting

Hi Hello88,

motherboard have different designs depending on the manufacturer and model, I highly recommend that you consult your motherboards documentation on how to locate the different connectors in the board. In case you don't have the manual, try downloading it from the manufacturer's site. The tricky work begins when you really can't find the documentation for your motherboard, as you'll have to find the connector by actually looking on the board, if you have a magnifying glass and flashlight, that would help seriously. Most manufacturers put visible markings on the the board, either words, abbrevations or symbols, audio connections are often a group of 4 connector pins, perhaps you can start looking for that, some boards have multiple grouped pins for audio connections which are designed to cater different types of audio cable connectors. Hope this helps.

Cheers and best regards,
