For the MS3 1700, I did it -- it was easy! First remove the shaver screen and cutters. To replace the batteries, remove the screw on the back near where the charger plugs in and also remove only the two screws found under the cutter assembly area, nearest the backside, that are screwed into the black plastic (not the ones screwed into the metal plate). Pry the back cover off starting a the end where the charger cord plugs in. It may be a little sticky because of the rubber seal, but it will pry off. The batteries are then accessable.

...for the MS3 1700, I ordered the two replacement NiMh AA flat top batteries, 2000 mAh w/solder tabs replacement batteries from Amazon.com for a total of $5.90. You will need a soldering iron to unsolder the wires from the battery tabs...

Your shaver model is not designed to replace the batteries. To open it, you have to remove the side grips on oscillator housing which are glued on. Disassembling it will cause it to be all marred up.
shaveroutlet.com has an easy and inexpensive solution. See link below

Yes, there is a screw on the back but you will still need to remove the side grips and the oscillator assembly at the top.
If you do get it open without damaging it too much, you willfin the correct battery type at shaveroutlet.com. See link below. You will need two batteries

I have no manual. My ms5500 isn"t charging properly and while it is on charge, it gets very hot.

Battery is wearing out. You can change them. See link below for correct battery type from shaveroutlet.com

An easier thing to do would be to purchase a factory refurbished MS-5200 from shaveroutlet.com. See link below. It is the same shaver as the MS-5500 but does not come with the clean/charge base.
