Hi John, it should say on the front or somewhere near the control panel what model it is. If you could email a good picture of it to me I might be able to tell. If it is a Monitor heater, go to www.monitor.com or if it is a Toyostove heater go to www.toyostove.com and you can download an owners manual. The most recent models of Monitor gas heater are the GF 3800 and GF 1800. The older one is the GF 500. You can send a picture to [email protected].
Testimonial: "Thanks Redniten, I looked on the Monitor Website and found out that it is a GF 500. I was told that it worked just fine when it was put away but does this need a "tune up" "
There's not a lot to tune up on the gas models. You may want to look at the rubber air lines inside the heater and make sure they are not cracked. There are 3 or 4 I think. They run from the combustion blower to the air pressure switch and to the gas cutoff valve. If they are cracked it will make the heater sputter while it is burning or not burn at all if they are cracked bad enough. You can also clean the flame rod with some steelwool or fine sandpaper.
I also had a used GF500 installed for natural gas
I can't seem to get mine out of economy plus ,I turn it on manual and it beeps and beeps and the economy plus button pops on ,I've tried clearing it ,unplugging it, so when it beeps I go and hold the economy plus button in and it will stop for a bit, but I'm afraid to keep it on tonight because I don't know what will happen
