I own a Milwaukee 12 compound slidesaw 6950-20. After using the saw -when I release the on-off handle.the saw makes a loud chatter sound-I think it is the brake and have read their is a brake adjustment.Have you heard of this problem and how do I fix this? Thanks,Peter Haskell

The break works by shorting the windings. An electric current is produced within the armature forcing it to stop. There is no adjustment. As the rotation slows the current is reduced till stops then no current. Unusal noises can be produced when windings are loose within housing or armature bearing are worn. Also could be that the blade is slipping or drive gears need lube. I would remove blade and look for indication of slipping. If no slipping run saw without blade and see if noise is reduced. Also I would use the lightest blade available. Heavy blade places greater load on gears to start and stop. Good Luck

How to put a new cord to a sawzall?

you can buy a replacement cord from just about any shop or go to for an exact replacement. UNPLUG tool and remove the handle half, make note of the wiring, if the ends of the cord are soldered you will need a paper clip to release them from the switch, just slide the clip next to the wire and PULL GENTLY to remove, Solder the new ends using the old cord as a template and when inserting pull gently to make sure the wire end seated into the switch. Reinstall the handle half and test.

After inserting the new wires of the cord GENTLY tug to make sure it locked into place. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Either the blade or the guard is out of alignment. You will have to check and find out which one is the culprit.
