Inspect your belt(s), rollers, pulleys for seizing or breakage.

I apologize for the delay in assisting you with the dryer issue.

Thank you for providing your model #. This always helps save time as different models have different designs.

Normally, when you purchase a drum belt, it will come in a plastic package with replacement instructions printed on the back. If you misplaced the instructions, The information listed below should be helpful, but may not be entirely accurate, due to factory design changes.

    1. Disconnect dryer from its power source.

    2. Remove the front panel by releasing the top panel from the front panel by placing a flat blade screwdriver between the top panel and front panel, at the corner wher both panels meet and gently pry upward to release the spring clips.

    3. Remove 5/16" screw at each corner where the front and side panel meet.

    4. Pull the top of the front panel slightly outward and lift upward, this should release the front panel from the base an retainer clips.

    5. Remove 4-5/16" screws from front bulkhead aand pull forward to remove.

    6. Slide new belt onto drum and replace onto motor pulley and idler pulley.

    7. Manually rotate the drum o align the belt on the drum.

    8. Reassemble and test run before putting clothes back in.

Hopefull this will be of some value to you.

SOURCE: Stains on Maytag dryer drum

This may be caused by some kind of wash product or softener product. You may be using too much. You can use a blue glass cleaner or small amounts of mild abrasive cleaner and water to try to remove it. Drums are made of porcelain or stainless steel and should 'never' wear out.

SOURCE: Dryer Drum Won't Spin

Reach inside and grab ahold of the baffle. Try to spin the drum, it should have resistance. If it spins freely you have a broken belt. Hope that helps. Dave ww.washermd.com

SOURCE: Electric Maytag Dryer Performa: Front loading

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Sounds like your problem may be a broken belt, or the belt may have slipped off of the motor pulley, or idler arm pulley or a faulty motor.
If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.
If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place.
Note: This method works for most front loading machines.
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections.
Remove the lint filter and the screws that hold the filter housing.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards and do not have to be removed completly.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

Maytag dryer won't rotate after blower wheel replacement

Check the drive belt and belt tensioner. From the way you describe it, the belt is loose and with a load in the drum, it will not rotate due to belt slipping.

My maytag neptune gas dryer model #MDG3000AWW When I push the start button on my maytag neptune dryer it sounds like it wants to start but doesn't and then it gets this smell like something is burning?...

It sounds like the drum bearings are seizing up preventing the drum from rolling easily, and when the motor runs, it can't pull the drum belt around the drum that won't turn, so starts squealing and burning the belt.

You need to lubricate/replace the drum bearings, and replace the belt.

The Maytag Dryer MED5570TQ0

Hi lesterjabbow;

A lot of these dryers have a long fiber belt that runs from a pulley on the motor thru a tension idler pulley and goes all around the drum. I suspect this belt is either broken or has come off the drive pulley on the motor. You can remove the back of the dryer easily with a 1/4 or 5/16 nut driver and immediately see if the drive belt is good. Any Maytag dealer will have a replacement part and it is easy to install

Hope this helps Good Luck Loringh PS Please leave a ranking if appropriate Thanks
