Question about Acer Aspire 4520-5582 Notebook
I have an HP Pavillion vd2000 and the screen has gone haywire. I just have flashing colors and lines everywhere. I hooked it up to an external monitor and it works fine. Would that mean that I need a new VGA card or what.. I am the not the best computer guy but have some ideas. If that is the thought what kind of VGA card should I buy and is it easy to install on a laptop since I can't drop it off anywhere since I am going out of town tonite.. thanks
If your resolution i too high that will hapen, try changing the resolution usin an external monitor if it woorks.

If your external video is working, most likely your VGA controller is good. Your laptop is using the same controller to control internal and external video. It could be two things that would cause your problem:
1. LCD VGA cable that connect your LCD to the laptop
2. Bad LCD VGA connector on the board(cold soldered joints)
3. BAD LCD panel
Any of the following repairs will require disassembling of your laptop.
