Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

I have a Kenwood kr-v7030 a/v reciever. A few years back it quit and I found that both 5a/125v fuses off of the power supply were blown. I replaced them and as soon as I powered the unit back on they blew again. I replaced the transistor on that same circuit board with no change. Just pulled the unit back out of the box and would like to get it running again. I have the schematics but unable to find the culprit. Thanks for your help. Jim

SOURCE: Kenwood KR-A4070 blowing 5a 125v fuses

I am guessing that the ceramic resistor is close to the output transistors. I would also guess that one or more of the output transistors has shorted. This causes a high current draw that is blowing the fuse. You could also have a power supply problem. The ceramic resistor is a .22ohm dual emitter resistor that is used in the output stage. The transistors located close by are probably shorted and should be replaced. Start there and let us know what happens once the transistors and the resistor are changed.

My Kenwood KR-v8050 reciever will turn on, but will not go out of stand by mode, the visual screen also is not working, what am I looking at to fix this?

Sounds like either the main power fuse is blown,or the power transformer is bad. If the fuse is blown, probably means the amp is shorted.

Pioneer sd-643hd5 fuse issue

The fuses may not be your problem--I have fixed several of these---The large power board is on the right side as you look from the back?

Lots of these sets develop bad solder connections on that board--several sites on the internet offer to have you remove and send them the board to resolder--this set used lead free solder and after some years has problems--a few I have opened had clearly broken solder joints--I usually in this case remove the board(mark all the many plugs and make a diagram) and solder almost all of it by hand----usually fixes this kind of trouble.

I do this here for free so if this information was helpful give me a vote here....I am here to help people.

Microwave stopped working when i pushed the start button

Yes. The white inside the glass that you are describing is a blown fuse. To find out what size fuse it is look around the base or top of the fuse. You will see engraved something like "125V 5A. You can pick these up at Home Depot or Lowes in the electrical isle. You can also type www.google.com and enter the word "fuse" and then the size it is. (125V 5A) If you have found this information at all helpfull, please rate my solution. Thanks D. Lange

Mitsubishi WT-46809 Powers Off; Code 2-2

The 2 fuses you mentioned are associated with the convergence IC. If they are open then the convergence IC is either bad or you have a "cold" solder joint on the IC.

No Power on rt2580

According the parts list on the model unit your fuse is suppose to be F101,FUSE 6A 125V. Is it possible that you have an undersized fuse?

I don't believe that one amp differents would cause your unit to blow like that but, you never know. More than likely you have a bad component in the power supply or power amp.

Then again, with an average replacement cost of $150 online; it not worth getting too deep into the repairs.

Toshiba 50H81 TAC0151 Blowing Fuses, I Need schematic

Well without the schematic, knowing Toshiba they have alot of convergence problems, so see if the fuse blown in the convergence area, if you you may have to replace convergence amps. These are the big STK's. Most of the time there was a color problem with set before going out. If no problem with this on your set then look in the HV area Hor. and Ver. area. Hope this helps!
