Question about Polaroid FDM0700A Under the Counter 7 LCD TV with DVD Player Television

1 Answer

Polaroid FDM-0700A There is no picture; I've read many of the same complaints on this product but no fixes in the USA? Can someone please give me their honest opinion? I received this tv as a gift and only installed it resently; as luck would have it it is too late to make a return. Please help. Epoxy

Don't know that it's worth the money, but here's a source for a replacement inverter board (powers the fluorescent tube back light that provides 'brightness'). Manufacturer/designers of screen and back light power circuit, not Polaroid, are at fault . Screen and back light are used in equipment made by others as well, and all suffer same design deficiency :

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

No volume on the cable tv setting?

Does the set have a earphone jack? if dirty or damaged it will cut the TV sound out---about the only other possible reason is a audio problem in the TV itself---if possible put ear up to speaker to see if any sound or buzz is heard.

It is a known defect that polaroid won't stand behind!  The original part which I suggest not to but b/c it will just burn up again is UI8007S-1...I highly suggest buying an upgraded part from www.lcdparts.net which is UI8007S-1MSS, and actually less expensive than the worthless original.
I will never purchase a Polaroid product again!!!!

Dark Picture

...the answer is correct...the power inverter for the cathode backlight is a complete failure with these Polaroid models.  Polaroid should really step up and fix a known problem.  Mine was purchased as a gift and not opened until the worthless 3 month warranty expired.  Didn't work out of the box!!!! I will never purchase a Polaroid product again since they obviously don't care about the consumer and sell a product that they know was defective.

Sound works, picture is very dark

You have to be specific when asking a question please. as you dont mention its a flodable LCD screen TV as I had to look it up. your problem is in the backlite circuit. if your a tech, you should have no problem finding this fault but could be a little trick if your not as your going to need to know how a back light circuit works, the parts in the circuit and know how to use a multimeter. Good Luck
