Question about Kenwood VR-605 Receiver

After my receiver warms up if I change functions it loses all sound output until it cools down again. This can take hours. Why does it do this?

When you say that the panel is bad are you referring to the display panel in front which indicates the function and all other things? The reason I ask is it shows all of the other details and to me it doesnt seem logical that the sound would travel through a display panel.

There are components that need replacement inside, when heated up, there properties change and the receiver is unable to perform as should. you should take to a service center and let them check for probably some swollen capacitors and replace them. all will be ok.

Electronics can fail after they warm up. When they cool down again they start working again. The electronics need replacing, on this TV its cheaper to replace the TV.

My freezer will freeze for about 2weeks then it starts to get warm when I turn it off for about 6hrs it will refreeze

It sounds to me like the defrost isn't working somewhere. It freezes for 2 weeks until the evaporator coil freezes over and you lose your airflow, hence, your cooling. Then when you shut the unit off for 6 hours it thaws out enough to get you cooling again for 2 weeks.Check your defrost timer and see if it is going into defrost and if your defrost elements are good. Both will be located on top of the unit. Good luck!

After playing my AVR-2802 Denon a while approx 3-4 hrs the sound output juts turns off, after letting it cool down a while it will resume playing ok , then repeats the cycle of loss of audio output.

Seems to be a heat related issue, when it " cools down " awhile it resumes audio output? Be sure you are allowing air circulation around the receiver, I am note sure but I do not think Denons have inboard fans, you could try a ciculating air fan on the unit after playing it for a couple of hours if the receiver feels hot.

Vr-309 starts to clip after 10-15 min

This is a case of one or more transistors breaking down when heated. This can be found usually by using freeze spray to cool down one transistor at a time until the problem clears up. You can narrow this down a bit by determining whether this "noise" is effecgted by the volume control or not. Also, does the problem show up faster when the unit plays louder?

Most of these problems are rooted in a failed power amp module.
