Hi, DL means Door Lock Failure while F is either (F80, 82,
84, 85).....

DL flashes if the following conditions occur:

  • Door lid is not closed completely due to interference.
  • Wash media buildup is preventing the lock bolt from extending.
  • Machine/motor control detects open door lid switch when attempting to lock.
  • Machine/motor control cannot determine if door lid is in a locked state.

Hello and welcome to FixYa

FDL is a door lock error and is caused due to an issue with the door lock when it is unable to lock/unlock. Please check the door lock mechanism/door switch assembly and replace the part that has gone bad so that the issue is resolved. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

F dl I get the clicking and F with dl. The washer does not come on.

Hi

Error F dl indicates door latch failure and to resolve this issue you'll have to replace the door latch assembly. Also before doing this you can leave the washer unplugged for 30 minutes and then check the door latch assembly, if bad replace it. Please post a comment if need more help.

Thanks

My GHW9150PWO Whirlpool Duet washer is flashing dL F message code and won't start, just makes a clicking noise and then flashes the above message code.

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error "dlf" means a door latch failure. This means that you'll need to replace the door latch assembly however before doing that you can leave the washer unplugged for 30minutes so that it resets itself. In the meantime when it's unplugged just inspect the door latch wiring to ensure all the connector plugs are intact and not loose or broken. You can access the door latch wiring harness by removing the top panel of the washer. To remove the top panel just remove the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, and then lift off. Locate the door latch assembly behind the front panel on the right hand side. Trace all the connectors from the door latch to the Central Control Unit (CCU) and make sure they are properly seated at both ends. If after doing this still the issue is not resolved then unfortunately you have to get the door latch replaced. Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Lights indicate on washer wont start

Try pushing on the door near the latch area while trying to start the machine. If it starts, but quits when releasing the push on the door, then the door switch probably needs adjustment or replacement. It could also be the actuator pin in the door that presses on the switch is damaged or a little short. Try extending the length of the pin slightly with epoxy or hot glue.

It is saying there is a problem with your door Lock. when you close the door does it hold like it use too? try to open and close the door if it doesn't really close properly then you will just need a door latch. If the machine gives you an f11 code then its the main computer board that can also give your the door lock error. I would check the door first though.

Error code F 11/ DL

First lets get your door unlocked so you can get the clothes out.
Remove the lower front panel from the washer. Reach up to the bottom of the latch and you will feel a tab hanging from the latch. Pull down on it and the door will unlock.

When you have the panel off you should see a tech sheet, probably on the right as you are looking at the machine. This tells you what to check for each fault code.
The F 11 code is for a communication failure between the main control board and the motor control board under the machine.
The DL is for a door latch problem as you already know.
If you are now getting both codes, you either have two seperate problems (unlikely), or the main control is the problem.
The only thing that the 2 codes have in common is the main control at the top rear of the machine. Loose wiring connections at the board and faulty solder joints in the boards are the most common problems we run into with electronic controls.
Most likely the door latch was not the problem the first time you got this code. The latches are usually pretty reliable unless the switch actuator gets broken, which won't give a code, it just won't start.
Check your owners manual for the warranty information. These machines used to have a 2 yr warranty on the control boards. Warranty policies changed industry wide in fall of '06 so they may only be covered for a year on yours.
Post back if you have any questions or need help.
Thanks/Mike
