Question about Eiki LC-X50M Projector

1 Answer

Overheating when I know it has not been on.

This has been a great projector until after the warranty ran out. I have to leave it unplugged at least an hour before I need to use it. Any time less than that it will act like it is going to start up but cuts off and gives a flashing warning temp light. Filters are clean and I even have an external fan blowing on it to keep it cool. Does it sound like a thermostat problem?

One of the internal fans might be broken, if even one of them stops, this problem will occure!
there are 6 fans in this projector.
check also if the metal handle is folded towards the lamp housing, if not it can stop the large exhaust fan
mounted on the lamp door on the rear side of the Pj.

Not an expert but I think it may be overheating. Is it sitting in a clear area? Can you feel air coming from the case? If not it needs a new fan.

New bulb, fan working, after 10 mins of operation get posterized image; suspect overheating; dust has been cleaned out; has not been taken apart

Hi!
Is the projector placed in a box or an area where it could generate overheating? Is this projector still within warranty?
Please feel free to update me. Cheers!

The lamp on my Infocus Screenplay 7210 shuts down

the projector thinks it is overheating. you may need to replace the temp sensor. it located near the lamp plug. also make sure the fans are both moving.

Projector turns on for about 30 seconds then shuts down. the fan kicks up high, and led light flashes yellow for about 4 min until the fan shuts off. does not feel hot so overheating does not seem to be...

if the lamp lights and then shuts down, replace the lamp. it's at the end of it's life. to rule out overheating, blow the projector out with canned air. dust retains the heat that the projector is trying to expell. also see if all of the fans are working. if you do get an image for a short time, try to get into the menu to reset the settings to factory default. lastly, if all else fails, you have a ballast issue. unfortunately, infocus no longer sells parts for this model.

It sounds like it is overheating. Are the fans all working? If so, try opening the casing and blowing all the dust out with a can of air from Staples/Office Depot. If the fans aren't working you may need to replace them.

My Acer PH530 overheats and shuts down after 15 minutes.

Mine does the same. When it was still under warranty I kept sending it in to get it fixed, but Acer never fixed the problem (rather they caused more problems). I sent it in for repairs 4 or 5 times, but eventually the warranty expired (after they told me they would extend it from the dates of the repairs). I haven't found a solution. If you do please let me know. Anyway, I don't recommend this projector to anyone else. AND, I certainly don't recommend Acer's customer service. Their warranty is worthless.
