Question about Franke RGX-170 Regatta Triple Bowl Undermount Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink

1 Answer

The tarish padding under my Franke sink has come off in a huge piece. It looks like a piece of a shingle from a roof. Some one suggested just to glue it back on? With what kind of glue? It looks like all of it is about to come off. The sink is less than 10 years old. Please advise. Thank you.

All that is is sound deadener to make the sink quieter with dish washing. You can use any sort of high tack glue. I am fond of household goop. Mine fell off long ago and I tossed it. never noticed a difference.

How do I find where the leak is in my roof flashing?

If you can't see where the leak is coming from exactly you can start from where you think the leak is and lift the roof shingles if its the right place you will start to find mold under them and that's where you should start fixing the roof.

Surface area =300 square feet 25 year old ash

Ash fault? I think you mean "asphalt" but that's OK. You haven't given enough information to solve the problem, but here's what you need to do.

You know the area of the roof is 300 square feet (sq ft). You should know the area of each asphalt shingle, although that's the information you didn't give. When you know that figure, the calculation is very simple:

number of shingles needed = area of roof / area of one shingle

I don't know if this is a class problem, or if you really have a roofing job. Don't forget that on a real roof, the shingles overlap. If you do the calculation, the number you get is right only if you lay the shingles edge-to-edge. A real-world roof would need probably twice that number. Shingles come packed in bundles, and they usually tell you the area they cover. (By the way, 100 square feet is termed a "square".)

I cant figure out how to use the clips for a Franke topmount granite sink. No instructions came with the sink. It is a formica countertop.

We can't figure it out either! It seemed to come with undermount pieces (its not an undermount sink) and some blurry IKEA-style instructions. Been working on this 3 hours!

Trouble with a Franke kitchen faucet - the spout has a retractable internal hose for spraying down the sink - it is not retracting as it should

Look at the clutter under the sink. Is the hose tangled or caught on something? There should be a weight clamped to the hose to make it fall back into place. This weight minght have slid down the hose.

We cannot get the mounting clips to stay on

I have spent several hours trying to solve the same problem with a Franke Granite double basin sink. The clips for this Franke sink appear to be a piece of engineering garbage, and the instructions are utterly useless - A huge piece of paper with a template, and tiny pictures that look like they were drawn by a kindergartner with a crayon. The instructions for using the clips --oh there are none - other than a blurry picture in which the clips could fit inside this period (.). Lots of other people appear to have the same issue. I like the Franke sink, but without proper mounting hardware, this franke sink is no better than the poorly made clips, and the Franke Sink horrible instructions that it came with.

Some padding under my undermounted sink has come off. What is it's purpose? and should it be replaced? Is it part of the undercoat?

The padding under the sink is just a sound buffer. If the sink became loud when the watter hits it just glue the pad back on and you will be go.

It is not part of the under coat.

How do I install a new pipe boot on an asphalt shingled roof?

the boot slips over the vent pipe. The plastic rectangular part of the boot slips under the shingles that are toward the ridge. The rectangle part forms a shingle.

Once that fitting is damaged it is very difficult to repair. Try contacting Franke for nearest distributer and see if they will replace.
