This means that your audio device drivers are not existing. Assuming that your operating system is Windows XP or Vista, download from this official link the drivers you asked for. Save it, extract and run the installation file (the setup file in the zipped folder).

SOURCE: hp pavilion cd/dvd drive disappeared, not showing

What you want to do is, first, make sure that the cables are connected to the cd/dvd player. Then, when you are in the device manager, right click on your computer name all the way on the top above all the devices, and click on scan for hardware changes.. If nothing comes up, restart computer and try this step again.

I took my GE Multimedia 2.0 Speakers from my downstairs computer and plugged them into my Computer I have upstairs and the icon for the sound at the bottom right has the red X next to it. I went to i tand...

Double click on your sound icon on the bottom of your screen. The one with the red x though it. If you do not see it their just simply go to your control panel on your computer.

In the control panel you will see a sound and audio device. Double click on that.

Then go to the sound tab, and click on it.

Under that you will see where you can select your audio devices. Click on the down arrows, chose the audio device you need, then click ok, restart your computer then you should be good to go.
